Raja Bhawal Sannyasi, drama serial based on a sensational case of the 1930s-1940s is now being telecasted on RTV Bangla. The 26-episode play revolves around the true story of Raja Mejokumar Rajendra Narayan Roy of Bhawal estate.
The central character of the drama serial is the Zamindar of the Bhawal estate. Being a philanthropist, he is fondly known as Raja among his people. The story advances with the Raja falling prey to a conspiracy involving his own wife and the people believing him to be dead. The story then takes an unexpected turn when years later Raja returns to the estate as a Sannyasi.
Jayanta Chatterjee plays the protagonist. He is backed up by Moushumi, Manosh Benarjee, Shamu Chowdhury, Khairul Alam Shobuj, Momena Chowdhury and others.
