While touring Mideast, Obama asked Palestinian PM to intervene in case of American girls held by their father in Palestinian-controlled territories

This process could lead to an instructive moment for Obama in the pitfalls of "dialogue" with parties who are all too eager to appear concerned, and say one thing, but do another or perhaps nothing at all, or do the right thing only after appalling delay and intense scrutiny. One hopes his staff and U.S. authorities follow through on securing the girls' return.

Barack Obama carried out a secret assignment during his global tour last week.

While talking about the Middle East peace process in the West Bank Wednesday, the presumptive Democratic nominee slipped a note to Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad.

The private message: Help an anguished Chicago mother get her daughters back.

Obama detailed the plight of Colleen Bargouthi, 36. She says that for the last year, her four daughters have been held in the Palestinian territories, made to wear headdresses and schooled in Islam by their Muslim father, Yasser Shibli.

Obama asked Fayyad's help in Colleen's fight to get her girls home after their Palestinian dad blocked them from returning from what was to be a six-week family trip to his hometown of Ramallah on the West Bank.

"According to Colleen, [her husband] hit her, kept her as a virtual prisoner in her in-laws' home and menaced her with guns," the note reads.

The husband promised he "would return the girls if she went home and found a job and a place for the family.

"Yasser Shibli Bargouthi has since told Colleen that her daughters will never be allowed to leave to return to their mother. I would ask that the minister of justice look into this case."

Obama also asked the US consul general in Jerusalem, Jacob Welles, to investigate and work with Fayyad.

Colleen had taken her case to the Chicago media and met with Obama's camp. But she was unaware of his efforts until contacted by The Post.

An Obama staffer called Colleen Thursday saying that Fayyad had vowed to look into the situation.

"I can't believe it. I am so amazed and pleased," she said.

Colleen could never have imagined the turn of events her life has taken. She was Colleen Davis when she met Yasser, a grocery-store manager, in 1993 through a friend while she worked as a waitress at Midway Airport.

He was a Muslim and she a Baptist, but he told her it was not an issue. She made her religious beliefs clear to his clan and got their blessing before the two married in a Christian ceremony 15 years ago.

Six months later, they traveled to Ramallah and she was welcomed into the family. "I always told him that I was a Christian and would remain one, and that any children we had would be raised Christian," she says.

The couple settled in a Chicago suburb with her son, Ricky, from a previous marriage and had four daughters, Emily, 11, Hannah, 8, Amanda, 6 and Sarah, 5.

Colleen was a stay-at-home mom and her husband became manager of a cellphone store.

The couple bought a house in 1999 but sold it when they couldn't make the payments.

Her husband rarely spoke about his religion and never went to mosque services, she said. Their children attended Cedar Lake Community Christian school. [...]

The couple returned to Ramallah for a family visit and were there on Sept. 11, 2001. They were unable to return home for months and Colleen gave birth there to her fourth child, Amanda.

She told her husband she never wanted to return to the Palestinian territories. But in a nightmare ordeal, he packed up his wife and the five kids for a third trip to Ramallah in June 2007.

"He really wanted to go, and I trusted him, and assumed we'd all come back from this trip, as we had the others," she said.

Almost immediately, tensions arose between the formerly happily married pair.

"He said right away that he didn't want to go home again," Colleen said.

He enrolled all five children in a private American school and signed them up for Islamic religion classes.

"I protested, but it didn't matter . . . When I refused to put headdresses on my daughters, the school said they would fail. Eventually, I pulled them out," Colleen said.

"He felt it was better for the girls to be raised in an Islamic society and not in America."

He demanded that she convert to Islam and grew angry over her refusal, and began to get abusive....

Commentary: Thoughts on Pro-Islamic Myths

During the Cold War, which was mighty hot in some places, the United States and Europe were subject to the greatest influence operation--propaganda--the World has ever seen. We are seeing a rival operation these days, although what is being propagandized is not that wonderful Socialism, despite its remaining advocates, but the latest, most wonderful wave of the future; the magnificently peaceful and tolerant religion, Islam.

In this short article we will examine five of the most prevalent myths told and retold to advance the Islamic cause. We hope to make our readers aware of these myths so they are better equipped to fight them.

1. The Myth of Past Islamic Greatness:

This myth has several variations, all amounting to the same thing; Muslims were once great, and infidels owe them a lot, if not their whole civilization. Variations of this myth include the Andalusian utopia, the tolerant Baghdad Caliphate, and the golden Ottoman rule. According to the myth of the Andalusian utopia, for example, tolerant al-Andalus served as a beacon of light upon dark Europe during the worst of the dark ages. (At this point all morally upright people are supposed to exhale in awe of the wonderful Islamic past.) Thomas Aquinas himself stole his philosophy from the greatest philosopher of all, al-Ghazali.

2. The Myth of Islamic Tolerance.

This is a variation of the Myth of Islamic Greatness but it is so prevalent it deserves its own paragraph. According to this view, Islam has a great record of tolerance and peaceful coexistence with other religions, in contrast to that awful Christian religion or the obscurantism of Hinduism. This is a tergiversation of the first order and a reckless denial of the past, but it doesn't matter; it has become the conventional wisdom. It has been argued (1) that Jews were better off under Islam in part because, under certain circumstances, Muslims would marry Jews, but Christians would not. This overlooks the rather crucial fact that only Muslim men would marry Jewish women, which is in a far worse oppression to Jewish men than not marrying Jews at all.

3. The Myth of the Inevitability of the Islamic Victory.

This is a standard myth advanced by almost all proselytizing ideologies. Its objective is to demoralize current or potential opponents. It amounts to "Islam is the wave of the future, so why bother fighting it. You are better off joining the bandwagon instead." Many efforts are spent to show Islam victorious everywhere, and to exaggerate Islamic victories to the largest extent possible. However sad the fact that Islam has been advancing in recent decades, we should not fall for this myth. Victory is earned, not guaranteed; that is true for Islam as it is for any other ideology.

4. The Myth of the Wickedness of the Infidel.

This is the "other side of the coin" to the Myth of Islamic Greatness. For infidel societies to be worthy of destruction, they must be wicked beyond belief. This is how the failings of our societies--some real, some not--are exaggerated and falsified. It is not that we are imperfect, as we surely are, but that we are beyond redemption.

5. The Myth of the Great Zionist Conspiracy.

Just as it is necessary to exalt the failings of the infidel, it is necessary to explain away the failings of Islamic societies, and for this nothing has proven as useful as the Myth of the Great Zionist Conspiracy. Think of the possibilities: we are poor; it is the Zionists' fault. We lose wars; blame the Zionist devils. The price of oil falls; it is those clever Zionist bankers. Some of our children and unmarriageable (true story); it is those clever, clever Zionists. As Eric Hoffer once observed, alibis are to be preferred to achievement, because an alibi doesn't expire while an achievement is only a temporary solution. The Great Zionist Conspiracy is the ultimate alibi.

The Issue at Hand: Survival

      The war we are engaged in, we are told, is a war against 'terror'. But terror is an emotion, and terrorism deployed against a people is a tactic, like blockade, blitzkrieg, ambush, or siege. As such, terrorism is not an enemy per se, but simply a tactical method deployed by unsavory characters. The term ‘terror’ does not describe the philosophical, social, or political motivations of a people adopting terrorist methods, and is an entirely inadequate term to describe the current worldwide conflict. Though such vague nomenclature may be reassuring to our society obsessed with political correctness, it is unnecessarily nebulous. Such poor precision is deception because it prevents rational evaluation of the true threat behind the terrorist weapon deployed against us. Those who limit their thinking to the constraints of the politically-correct 'thought police' seem content to believe that we are not really fighting individuals or nations, but rather some kind of abstraction, … as if somewhere there are soldiers with "Republic of Terror" embroidered on their uniforms marching lock-step to attack us. Terrorist acts are simply the weapon of choice deployed by actual enemies of flesh and blood to accomplish some objective. As will be shown, the terrible agenda behind such methods are even broader and more insidious than the individual terror acts they employ.

      In reality, we are no more in a war against ‘terrorism’ than we were ever engaged fighting the scourge of Machine guns in WWI, the plague of Zeros or German Tanks in WWII, or the threat of Nuclear weapons in the Cold War. In wartime, it is not machine guns, kamikaze zeros, tanks, bombs, and bullets which by themselves are responsible for killing people; … it is actual real people, acting on some nationalistic, political, or religious ideology which pull the trigger and are responsible for all causalities. In fact, all potentially lethal weapons are just inanimate objects, perfectly content to remain safely in storage, until some ideologist chooses to pick it up and use it to advance some personal, nationalistic, or religious cause. Ultimately it is not only the foot soldiers, but the leadership, and in particular the ideology itself, which is responsible for all acts of war committed in its name, by whatever weapon. Contrary to popular nomenclature, ours is not a war against "evildoers," a creaky tag that conjures faceless entities lurking in the dark. Terrorism may be the method employed, but Jihad in support of Islam is the ideology all these militant movements share. That simple fact remains difficult to express because of the inferences that naturally follow. It remains unacceptable to draw any conclusions implying that; to effectively ward off Jihadist aggression, we may need to also combat an ideology born of a religion. In the formerly Judeo-Christian (currently relativist-hedonist) West, such a thought triggers near panic: How can religious worship inspire anything but goodwill among men, aren't terrorist tactics opposed by all but a statistically invisible Islamic fringe? Instead of identifying the real enemy, and discrediting the dangerous ideology inciting them, we courageously fight ‘terrorism’, and determinedly target ‘evildoers’. Like the well-intentioned and noble Don Quixote, we slash at windmills. All the while, actual real terrorists with steely determination and considerable support, plot their next massacre.

      Most Americans have a benignly positive attitude toward religion, but this partiality allied with political correctness is blinding us, keeping us from asking reasonable questions upon which the survival of our civilization may well depend. Does our culture, obsessed with tolerance, render us incapable of drawing reasonable conclusions about Islam’s core values and designs? The general reluctance to criticize any non-Christian religion, and the almost universal public ignorance about Islam, make for a dangerous and potentially lethal mix. The gentle reader should be forewarned that this work delves much deeper into the cultural, spiritual, and religious roots of the current conflict than others dare to go. This is not for the faint hearted, but is presented for the benefit and enlightenment of all lovers of truth, knowledge, and freedom. Unfortunately there are large numbers of Americans leaning one direction or the other on the issue of the ‘war’ based solely on popular opinion, because they lack either specific knowledge, or the deep moral convictions and strong values that our society has traditionally depended on for its strength and prosperity. Those lacking knowledge or with no convictions are dangerous because, with no moral compass of their own, they can be easily manipulated through misinformation and spin. Stalin referred to these as "the convenient masses".

      There are two very practical pieces of advice upon which one can base fair judgment of other people, religions, and governments. In fact those who fail to embrace this advice completely are destined to remain forever as lost as 'old' Europe is today. I believe my source is a good one. The first litmus test to use in judgment is … "Only through a mans works is his true nature exposed". The other is "By this we can know if man has truly repented … he will confess and forsake the bad behavior". By these two pieces of advice, one can fairly judge the value of individual and groups actions, and also gauge the progression if and when they realize their actions lead to bad fruit, and make claim to be reformed. Until then, it would be stupid to call the kettle anything other than 'black', even when speaking from a pot that is less than white.

      It seems inevitable that this work is likely to be tagged by some as Islamophobic or racist. It may appear (and some will undoubtedly charge) that the facts and views presented herein are extreme. But the data is in fact genuine, accurate, as is the context in which it is presented. It seems inevitable these days that perspectives based on traditional values are quickly tagged as politically 'incorrect', and often judged as coming from the extreme far right. The author admits only to ascribing to a political and social philosophy centered much more on personal responsibility and social/cultural accountability than is currently interpreted as 'politically correct' by the far-left. There is Far-Left, Left, Middle, Right, and Far-Right. Be careful not to limit and ascribe correct thinking and judgment to any one political philosophy. Within all these leanings are valuable perspectives, truth, and sometimes even wisdom. The trick is sorting through the mountains of propaganda necessary to get to any information of true value. Whatever our political affiliation, continued prosperity, as well as our very survival, now dictates that this people put aside their differences and concentrate on the values we share, and the threat common to all of us.

      This work will explain exactly why the West waits in vain for Islam to take full responsibility for the vile acts being produced in her name by a myriad of groups. Hopes will remain unfulfilled that majority peaceful Islam, out of a sense of principal and humanity, will actually doing something to reform itself, without having to be pressured by others. Until such a day we must be realistic and realize that what we can expect is more of the same …a little 'hand wringing' is probably all we will ever see from their regional and world leaders, along with more finger pointing at Israel and the West. The reasons for such pessimism will become clear later. In the mean time, until we see effective action and hear convincingly from this supposed vast silent majority of peace-loving Muslims, it is expedient for the rest of the world to take off the blinders and begin to live with both eyes wide open. From knowledge comes wisdom, from wisdom comes power, and from power comes safety. The only thing that springs from ignorance is error, weakness, and sometimes …mortal peril. This is one of those times.

Islam lays claim to a glorious history. Islam has seen victory after victory during their earlier conquest and destruction of ancient civilizations. This is merely an attempt to prettify itself a brilliant Islamic image in the eyes of innocent people. As a matter of fact, Islam has no glory to advertise at all.

The most prominent characteristics of Islam is its eternal Jihad war. Establishment of Dar-ul-Islam has been Islam’s highest goal since its inception. In recent years, Islam has been infiltrating every part of the world like a cancer cell and grows malignantly beyond control. Democratic nations are unable to prevent Islamic infiltration or stop its expansion. Much of democratic societies has been flooded with Jihadi terrorists or Islamic elements. These Islamic elements are further strengthened by leftist liberals, phony intellectuals, liberal media, pseudo secular political leaders and Communist academicians. These leftist liberal groups have established an unholy nexus with Islamic fascists. They do not believe in any generally recognized principles of morality and justice. All of their principles are used entirely for supporting Jihadi terrorists not the victims of Islamic terrorism. They keep changing their surface appearance by putting on new clothes. This Janus face of leftist liberals provide various forms of opportunity for Jihadis to gather more power and strengthening its operation and pursuit of evil Islamic goals.

ISLAMIC MASTERS OF DECEIT

Muslims are eager to conceal their views and aims. They openly declare that Islam is peace. But their goal is the forceful overthrow of all existing social structures. Violence, intimidation, and terror are the main means by which Islam gained power in the past. This character trait has been passed on to all subsequent form of Islam since its birth. Islam grew out of the use of violence against infidels . During the past 1,200 years, Islam has slaughtered over 100 million infidels. Muslims want to either convert or annihilate all infidels by force.

Mohammad established an Islamic empire by murdering Jews, Christians and Pagans. Therefore, Muslims naturally inherited the willingness to kill. During colonialism, Westerners used violence to gain political power. But there has never been a political ideology disguised as a religion as eager to kill as Islam. One of the theological theory Muslims use is to divide humanity into two camps: Dar-Ul-Harb and Dar-Ul-Islam. Muslims want to establish Dar-Ul-Islam by forcefully converting all infidels.

The power of Islam over the individual results from Islamic religious school’s prolonged course of indoctrination. The brainwashing starts in schools, mosques, where Mullah sanctioned answers are rewarded, answers that do not comply with commonsense or human nature. Muslims receive Islamic indoctrination when they attend primary school, middle school and the way to college, and they learn Mullah sanctioned standard answers, otherwise, they are brutally punished. A Muslim must remain consistent with Islamic line when speaking publicly, no matter how he feels privately. Mullahs control power on top of controlling the entire life of a Muslim. This unique structure of indoctrination, threats and punishment is the most important feature of Islam.

Today, Islam has degenerated into a fascist political ideology struggling to promote terrorism, violence, hatred and bigotry. Islam is not interested in pursuing any lofty goals of democracy, freedom, peace, tolerance, human rights and coexistence. Islamic rigidity, fanatic belief system, indoctrination, and oppression and unconditional conformity has not changed. Islam still situating itself above humanity and human nature, removes any Muslim deemed detrimental or potentially detrimental to its own rigid system.

ISLAM OPPOSES HUMAN RIGHTS

Islam does not hold universal standards for human rights. The concepts of good and evil, as well as all civil and family laws, criminal justice administration and judicial proceeding, and rules are arbitrarily manipulated by Islamic Mullahs. Benevolence, pardon, righteousness, wisdom, tolerance, coexistence, and freedom are all good, but not applicable when Mullahs are not willing or do not want to consider these virtues. Islam completely rejects the universal standards of human rights, religious rights of non-Muslims and women’s rights, independent judiciary and equal opportunity for all citizens.

ISLAMIC WICKEDNESS

The history of Islam shows a process of its gradual accumulation of every kind of brutality and wickedness after Mohammed invaded Mecca and Medina. Islam, after the death of Mohammed has perfected its inherited wicked traits with deceit, incitement, espionage, robbery, targeted assassination, violence, terror and mass murder. For hundreds of years, Islam has consolidated and strengthened its power and reach and solidified its malignant characteristics.

Ruthless and violent followers of Mohammed destroyed ancient civilizations in Babylonia, Mesopotamia, Egypt, Persia, Afghanistan, and North Western India. Islamic theory of violence has no antecedent in any earlier systems of thought, philosophy or tradition. The Islamic brutality fell upon on several countries as if from nowhere.

Islam forcefully converted traditional, peace loving people with the sword, liberated them from their life sustaining moral standards, and enslaved them with the absurd, rigid, fanatic, dualistic and violent Islamic ideology.

Islamic fascists presented the fantasy of an Islamic paradise and indoctrinated converted people, and severed the lifeline that connected the traditional peace loving people. Islam through deceit, incitement, assassination and mass murder robbed their wealth, and plundered their traditional land. Islam has done many things with absolute cruelty and genocide. A reign of terror was used to eliminate philosophers, poets, intellectuals, artists and free thinkers--to achieve a single Islamic goal, to control the populace through the use of terror.

ISLAM’S SOPHISTICATED METHODS OF INFILTRATION

Islam has used a two sided strategy, one side soft and flexible. It is meant for softening non-believers in democratic countries, and the other hard and stern for Muslims in the Mosques. The softer strategy includes propaganda that Islam is peace, justice, fairness, equal opportunity and brotherhood.

This is a dress rehearsal for softening innocent people for the final Islamic assault. Propaganda is an attempt to infiltrate, penetrate and subvert infidel societies. The success of the Islamic mission depends on capturing infidel’s stronghold from within. To this end, Muslims employ a variety of techniques. They are in the market places of America, Latin America, Africa, Europe and India in social organizations, in correctional institutions, in the U.N, on street corners, even at social organizations, academia, political parties and the media. The ultimate aim of Islam is to establish Dar-Ul-Islam where sharia law will be the rule of law and non-believers will be Dhimmis.

To achieve the long-range goal, Islamic fascists and their leftist cohorts carefully, attentively and skillfully take advantage of democracy, secular laws and use anything to advance the ultimate goal of establishing Dar-Ul-Islam. Their obligation to defend Islam dictates their tactics in seeking to obstruct and undermine public confidence in social policy. In seeking to curry favor with leftist liberals, Muslims employ tactics bringing attention to social problems including Alcohol and other Drugs addiction, divorce, crime and taxes to incite and agitate the public.

Islamic fascists have long followed the practice of making full use of democratic liberties, judicial procedure, civil laws, lawful agitation, propaganda and free speech and social programs. However, if it will help, Islamic fascists don’t hesitate to use illegal methods, such as underground operations, riots, violence, terrorism, mass agitation, targeted assassination, kidnapping and public beheading. To the Islamic fronts, everything that promotes their goal is moral, legal and justified.

ISLAMIC INDOCTRINATION

To understand Islamic strategy, tactics and game as designed to destroy liberty and democracy, we must understand Islamic indoctrination techniques. The Koran and Hadith contain contagious patterns of cultural information that are passed from mind to mind which directly shape and propagate deviant actions. The Koran contains catchy phrases, behavior norms, rituals, dress codes and rituals. Islam amplifies these behavior through replication and through rote learning at Islamic religious institutions. Islamic schools and Mosques provide ideal conditions for propagating and dispersing Koranic mind viruses. Islamic organizations provide affinity spaces by means of shared activities, Islamic ‘talking points’ and propaganda platform-designed for deceptive and specialized appeal aimed to advance Islamic causes.

Islamic front organizations provide tunes, ideas, catch phrases, clothes fashions, and living structures. These Islamic memes planted in the mind of Muslims literally parasitize their brains, turning them into a vehicle for the propagation. These Islamic ideas or memes mutate and spread like a computer virus. The Islamic cognitive and behavior pattern is transmitted among Muslims, and they act as a carrier of the meme. This process of self-reproduction of Islamic memes become contagious. They are replicated in unlimited ways by communication between Muslims through internet, media, and indoctrination session at the Mosques.

Islamic religious organizations and Mullahs are very effective in enforcing Islamic memes, codes, and ideas with threat and intimidation. Muslims are told that they will suffer ghastly torments of Allah after death if they violate Islamic principles. This is particularly a nasty technique of persuasion, indoctrination, causing great psychological damage. But it is highly effective. Ruthless Mullahs enforce irrational blind faith by Fatwa. Islam allows murder of those Muslims categorized as apostate and those who renounce Islam. Thus Islam maintains the meme machine and turns it against infidels.

THE WAY OUT

We should be aware of and guard against political correctness and moralizing politicians who promote Islamic atrocities in the name of free speech. The pressure on ordinary citizens in democratic countries from pseudo secular, Islam sympathizing politicians, and phony leftist liberals to tolerate Jihadi terrorists has greatly weakened the resolve to confront the evil specter of Islam. Recently, Jihadi terrorists and their front organizations have made significant gains and there is no reason to expect the pressure from leftist media and liberal politicians to tolerate intolerance of Islamists to diminish. They are firmly rooted in the phony root social cause theory of Jihadi terrorism. Leftist liberal ideas reflect the continuing tendency of supporting hate filled policies of the Islamic fascists.

A population buffeted by transitional morality on all sides and educated to tolerate intolerance will be reluctant to confront Islamic political dogma disguised in ecclesial terminology. The underlying strength of the western democracy, freedom of speech, and multiculturalism has permitted glib Islamic fascists to promote the Koranic hatred and bigotry by propaganda and deceit. This will bring about a resurgence of Islamic politics that are tricky and dangerous. Given the explosive Islamic forces lying so near the surface in democratic countries, one cannot discount the potential for a sweeping transformation of the political scene by a political movement that is neither liberal nor passive. This is critical for the maintenance of democracy, freedom and preservation of our culture. The time has come for a decisive action. It is time to abandon for good all illusions about Islam.
