My Jewels # 25
"And they shall be Mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up MY JEWELS." (Malachi 3:17)

To my dear grandchildren,
"They. . . hated me without a cause." (Psalm 69:4)
Many years ago the wife of an African chief visited a mission station. Outside his cabin, the missionary had a little mirror hung on a tree. The chief's wife happened to look into the mirror and saw herself reflected there in all her hideous paint and evil features. She looked at her own ugly, grotesque face and started back in horror. "Who is that horrible-looking person inside that tree?" The missionary replied, "it is not in the tree; the glass is reflecting your own face." She could not believe it until she held that mirror in her hand. "I must have the glass. How much will you sell it for?" "Oh" he said, "I don't want to sell it." But she insisted and begged, until finally he thought it might be best to sell it to her to avoid trouble. So he named the price and she bought it. "I will never let it make faces at me again!" She threw it down and broke it to pieces.
How foolish, you say. But that is the way people treat the Bible and Jesus Christ. The Bible (God's Word) shows us the wickedness of people's hearts and how Jesus can change them. Many say, Down with the Bible. We don't want Christ!"
When Jesus stood in judgment before man, they said we don't want this Man to rule over us. We want Barabbas (a murderer) instead. This was man's choice and now man has to live with that choice. But there is a way out.
"The wages of sin is death." (Romans 8:23)
"Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
(John 3:16)
