På grund af de mange nybyggerier og planlægning af nye højhuse, sprænges der klipper i stor stil i Nuuks nye bydel i denne tid. Det er vigtigt at beboere og andre der færdes i området nøje følger de advarselsskilte der sættes op. Der er mange af den og de flyttes rundt ofte på grund af de store områder som skal gøres klar til at bygge på.
