Is it Wise to Buy Discount Eyeglasses On-line?

by: gaobin

Should you buy discount eyeglasses? Comparison shopping and buying on-line is now a major trend, where a lot of people shop for clothes, medicine, insurance, cars and eyeglass. But is it wise to compromise the health and condition of your eyes, for a pair of discount eyeglasses?

Although it may seem to be a safe and ordinary part of the process to fit for your eyeglasses, this is not true.

For the optical center of your eyeglass lenses is the part that gives you clear vision, and determining where to put these lenses forms an important part of the work of an optician. Surf discount eyeglasses websites and you will discover that they need to determine this distance between your eyes or PD. For this, you'll still need to get fitted by your optometrist or the lab, to have this correctly determined.

You may end up selecting the wrong frame for your face and all because it's a pair of discount eyeglasses. Having the proper frame for your eyes is important because if they fit properly you won't have headaches, and you see clearly.

Frames that are too large or don't fit your face properly will fall of your nose. If this is too small, you'll feel uncomfortable, as they will pinch the bridge of your nose. Either way, if they aren't the right size for you, you'll end up owning a useless pair of discount eyeglasses.

Another important factor you should consider, how can you determine if you look good in a pair of discount eyeglasses? Isn't it more satisfying to be able to try on any pair of eyeglasses you see in the optometrist clinic and immediately know if this pair suits you? Something you can't do with discount eyeglasses, even if online shops try to approximate it with flash programs.

Weigh your options and if you can spend a little bit more to have it this done in the traditional way, at your optometrist clinic, then do it.

This may sound trite, but you have only one pair of eyes, and you should do all you can to protect and keep this pair healthy, so they'll serve you better.

Replica Jewelry Can Save Lots of Money

by: gaobin

Many people like the look of Tiffany jewelry, however few people have enough money to spend on such an expensive investment. If you are one of these people then there is a simple solution, you should consider looking for designer replica jewelry. There is a difference between fake and replica jewelry, this is brought when you know it's not the real thing. Replica jewelry will never be identical to the genuine thing, however they look very similar and are just as good if you don't have enough money for the original.

Hallmarks

Replica jewelry is only normally slightly different to the original piece, there will only be a few small differences. The original designed piece will have a hallmark stamped somewhere into the metal which can be used to work out who created this jewelry.

Jewelry made out of a precious metal such as gold or silver it must be stamped with a hallmark stating how much precious metal was used to create the piece. This is measured in karats, which basically means how many parts of pure gold.

This does not have the same hallmark as the original, it should however have some hallmark which designates the material used and the creator. The hallmark is especially important if the jewelry is made from a precious metal. If the metal used is a base metal then there is no law stating that it has to have any form of hallmark.

If you cannot see a hallmark on the replica jewelry that you are considering buying then you should assume that it is not made from precious metal. If someone tries to tell you otherwise then all you can do is assume that they're trying to rip you off. There are reasons you should consider buying replica jewelry created using non-precious metals, for a start it's cheaper.

You do need to keep your wits about you when shopping for replica jewelry. If you are told that something is made out of gold you should make sure that it's genuine otherwise it could cause disappointment.

When you have learnt to tell the difference between the original and replica jewelry then you are ready to start shopping to find some. No matter whether you plan to buy a replica or the original piece of jewelry you should be aware how to tell the difference. You should make sure you are informed about the options before choosing which one to buy.

How To Clean Your Eye Glasses for Clear Vision

by: gaobin

You must always keep your eyeglasses clean for a clear vision. As you wear it outside, it is very easy for the glass to catch dirt and oils from outside. Also as you use your eyeglasses casually, they pick up fingerprints which may distort the vision.

The sole purpose of cleaning your eyeglasses is to remove the residue or dirt without affecting the lenses. Different types of glasses require different handling. When you buy your eyeglasses you must ask about the ways to take care of them. If you don't take proper care of your glasses then they will not provide you a clear vision thereby increasing the eyestrain. Special lens wipes are available in big retails shops and malls for cleaning the glasses. You can use these wipes for any lenses like glass or plastic. They have specific usage instructions and you read them before cleaning your glass with lens wipes. The lens wipes clear the dirt from your glasses without damaging them.

You can clean your glass by washing it under warm water. First remove the dirt by rubbing with a fine silk cloth. Then rinse the glass with warm water. After that apply a mild detergent in your hands and make circular motion in the lenses to remove the oils and residue. Rinse again with warm water. When all the dust is cleared the water will be repelled by the lens and you can dry the glass with a soft cotton cloth. You must wipe the entire moisture in the lens and the frames to keep your glass clean and durable.

For cleaning the nose pads of your glass you can use baby tooth brushes or special brushes for cleaning nose pads. You must not let the brush rub the lens as its bristles may scratch your lens. If your glass has any special coating you have to check with the optometrist for the cleaning process. If you engage wrong cleaning process then it may spoil your glass.
While removing the glass, use both the hands so that frame does not bend.

When you are not using the glass keep it in a hard case specially meant for keeping your glass. When you have designer glasses then you have to be more careful as they are expensive. Your glass will stay new and fresh as long you take proper care. Also you need to maintain the glasses clean for a clear distortion free vision.

Reading Glasses

by: gaobin

Do you find it difficult reading at normal length? Do you screw up your eyes to bring things into focus? If so, you need reading glasses. People above the age of forty could need single-vision reading eyeglasse.

The main two types of frames are full frames and the smaller Franklin glasses. The full frames have the entire lens made as per the reading prescription, the smaller Franklin glasses sit lower down on the nose and look like half-eyes.

Reading glasses are for those who would be closely looking at objects for a long time. However they are not the same as computer glasses, which are different in design. These glasses will be blurry if you try looking across a room through them.

The half eyes are for those who need to read and look up to discuss things, say, for example, if you are a consultant who needs to interact with people as well as read and write at the same time.

Before you decide on reading glasses, you need to visit an ophthalmologist or an optometrist. Ophthalmologists are doctor specializing in treating eye problems. Optometrists examine the eye, diagnose problems and prescribe glasses. They are not medically qualified. They will give you a prescription with a number, against which you can get your glasses made. An eye examination by an ophthalmologist is a good idea as it could diagnose or even rule out other eye problems.

Today there is a wide range of reading glasses to choose from. Some are even foldable to fit in small, handy, attractive cases. The frames available are interesting and flattering. You can get these in stainless steal, gold or silver rimmed or even in trendy plastic, in a variety of shapes and colors. If you are looking for something exclusive, choose handmade frames. Accessories like magnifiers to read really small print, or even in dim light are also available.

Remember to choose a reputed maker for spectacles are expensive. The better they are made, the longer they will last and the more well-suited they will be to your needs. As far as looks go, today the old adage ‘Guys don’t make passes at girls who wear glasses’ just doesn’t apply to this fashion accessory anymore!

Jewelry - The Heart Tradition

by: gaobin

There is a long tradition of incorporating the symbol of a heart into different types of jewelry including Tiffany Necklaces, necklaces, rings, earrings and Tiffany Bracelets.

Hearts, as a romantic symbol, have been used in almost every culture throughout the world. Hearts are a sign of love, friendship, commitment and betrothal, depending on what the intent was in the gifting of the jewelry item. Because hearts are relatively easy to fashion, even very hard stones such as diamonds can be made into the heart shape for a truly lovely presentation.

One of the most historical and culturally rich heart-shaped jewelry piece is the Irish Claddagh ring. This ring, which is always a heart held by two clasped hands topped with a crown, has stood for love, friendship, loyalty and faith for over 300 years.

It is interesting that traditionally the way that the Claddagh ring was worn symbolized which of the meanings of the Tiffany Co Rings it was intended. This tradition is not as closely followed as it was in the past, but if you want to wear the ring correctly you do need to know what you are indicating.

If you are married, the Claddagh ring is worn on the left hand, with the crown pointing away from the wearer's heart. Worn on the left hand with the heart facing outward means that the wearer is engaged but not yet married. Worn on the right hand in the opposite position, heart facing inwards, the ring symbolizes that the wearer has had their heart captured by someone else but it has not been formalized. Wearing the ring on the right hand with the heart facing outward means that the wearer is free and available. If this all seems a bit complicated, don't worry too much as unless you are of strong Irish heritage and really well versed in these things as it is just the beauty of the ring you will be focused on anyway.

Hearts are popular in all types of jewelry and can be found in silver, gold, gemstones and even in wire jewelry. Typically hearts in jewelry are seen on items for women, however hearts in engraving or detailing on wedding bands can be seen on both men's and women's styles. One of the most unique aspects of hearts, regardless of the type of jewelry, is that they are a shape that can be very large and bold or very tiny and delicate without distorting the shape. If you stop and think about it the symmetrical aspect of the heart shape makes it perfect for balancing jewelry items and for working into other shapes and designs. A common jeweled heart pendant or earrings will take full advantage of this symmetry and have either one larger center jewel or smaller jewels in equal balance on either side of the heart.

Heart shapes have been stylized over the years with longer more artistic hearts very popular in many different tiffany jewellery styles. Traditional heart shapes are also seen in both older and more modern and classic styles, making them very versatile as well as collectible. Lockets, traditionally in the shape of a heart are perhaps the best known of the jewelry styles to focus on the heart shape in very traditional ways.

Loose Gemstones - Hobby For the Collector, Bounty For the Investor

by: gaobin

From the different times they were discovered, gemstones have enthralled millions of people with their sparkling or matt-finished brilliance, as well as their unique, captivating colors. Although it was but natural that gemstones would eventually find pride of place in jewelry-making, some people find the collection of loose gemstones, particularly diamond gemstones, as an exciting hobby, while others find them as an excellent investment opportunity with lucrative, earning potential, over a period of time. However, it must be pointed out that before investing in either gemstones, or diamond gemstones, you must either have the ability and knowledge to discriminate between genuine gemstones and imitations, or be provided with certification of their authenticity at the time of purchase.

Collecting or investing in gemstones or diamond gemstones, is a serious business that takes years of study and experience, in order to identify which loose gemstones or loose diamond gemstones are genuine and those which are not. However, there are several other specific aspects that you need to be aware of and which professional jewelers are adept in. These aspects include the identification of gemstone color, clarity, cut, size and weight, among others. To gain a better understanding of these critical factors, particularly before you invest in loose gemstones or loose diamond gemstones, it is highly advisable to learn what you can by reading books devoted to these subjects, going online or by visiting reputed jewelers. This will stand you in good stead when you avail the special offers at loose gemstone sales.

Gemstone color - When choosing gemstones or loose diamond gemstones, you must know that all top-of-the-line, gemstones display colors similar to almost all colors of a rainbow - violet, blue, green, yellow and orange. Beware of gemstone colors that are foggy, muted, or those which appear slightly darker as this will lower their value. Color is considered, one of the most important aspect, therefore, you must factor this in, when selecting loose gemstones or diamond gemstones.

Gemstone clarity - This is another important aspect to consider when purchasing loose gemstones or diamond gemstones. Clarity is generally referred to as the amount of inclusions that a gemstone contains such as, large particles of other elements or minerals. The more flawless the gemstone, the more valuable it will be. To determine clarity, a 10X gemstone clarity magnifier or gem microscope is necessary, as it would be most difficult to ascertain clarity with the naked eye.

Gemstone cut - Insofar as, loose diamond gemstones, the cut is also an extremely important factor that must be considered during appraisal of not only loose diamond gemstones but also the other loose gemstones you intend to buy. Professionally cut gemstones will automatically exhibit the natural, inherent color of the gemstone and also display its precise proportions and symmetry. To determine the excellence of the gemstone cut, try to detect how well it reflects light throughout the gem's surface.

Whether the collection of loose gemstones, or loose diamond gemstones are intended as a hobby or an investment, you'll find it to be one of the most fascinating and rewarding experiences in your life.

Use Your Health Savings Account to Buy Glasses Online

by: gaobin

This morning at work we had a presentation on health care plan options. With rate increases, our company is making us switch plans or pay out-of-pocket for the deductible on the existing plans. One of the options we are looking at is a high-deductible plan in combination with an HSA (Health Savings Account).eyeglass frames

If you have not heard of a Health Savings Account, you will soon, as they are becoming increasingly popular. The concept for an HSA plan is two fold: a high-deductible health insurance plan is combined with a special tax-deductible savings account, called an HSA, or Health Savings Account. First, a high-deductible insurance plan means that the first $1000-$3000 (depending on the plan) of any medical service, often with the exception of annual physicals and other preventative care (which are covered with a small co-payment), is paid for entirely by the individual. The insurer does not begin paying until the deductible has been met, after which the insured individual is not required to pay anything.bifocal eyeglasses

But from where is an employee supposed to get this $1000-$3000 to meet deductible payments?

Enter the HSA. The IRS has set up these special accounts as such that all contributions are completely tax-free (as a "top-line" deduction, itemizing not required) and the money in the account can be used to fund any health-related expenses, including eyewear, vision, dental, acupuncture and other services typically not covered by your primary health provider. Because high-deductible health plans offer significant savings compared to traditional plans, your employer will possibly use part of the difference to fund your HSA, essentially putting money in your pocket!

Back to my company, the presentation on our health insurance options resulted in an interesting discussion. The company will be paying the premium on a high-deductible health plan and contributing $500 annually to my Health Savings Account. I'm young, healthy, and rarely see the Doctor, so this will essentially be $500 in my pocket to use on future medical expenses.

Something particularly appealing about the HSA plan is that I could use my Health Savings Account to buy glasses online! This is a huge step away from the paradigm of the insurer paying ridiculous prices to the eye doctor for glasses. Because my employer has agreed to contribute $500/year into my HSA, for the first time ever, my glasses will cost me nothing out of pocket and the cost of eyeglasses will go towards my deductible! But I'll still have the incentive to go with the most cost-effective route (thereby using less from my account), so I'll buy my glasses online with the HSA debit card.

For the budget-conscious do-it-yourself type, the HSA really works out great. So, if you have a health savings account, use it to buy glasses online! It is a qualifying expense , so just save the receipt in your health expense file. Tax-free eyewear for under $100.
