Well, here we go again...

Well, I've got this new blog, I guess. So, why not tell a lil about myself. Well, here are the basics. My name is Kayla. I'm 17 years old, born on Febuary 8, 1990. I have brown hair naturally. I dye it a lot and then end up letting it grow so now it's brown then lighter brown, then reddish brown as it goes from top to bottom. I like it, I guess. It's naturally curly. I'm not talking it's little wavy wahhhhh. I'm talking perm fried curly. It takes a lot to keep me from looking like a frizzy geek. Pfft, stereotypes. I also have glasses. They're not nerdy and they're not emo. I'm 5'7" and It doesn't matter what I weigh. I am skinny, though. People like to call me a twig because they're haters. I'm of the white persuasion no, but yeah, I'm white. I guess I'll put a picture of me at the end of this, which means I just wasted mass amounts of time typing that description. I also just wasted your time, I suppose, since there's no way I'm erasing all that hard work.

Well, now that we're past that shallow stuff, I'll tell you stuff about my personality. I love to write. I don't really like poetry, though I guess I'm good at it(that's what I'm told). No offense to poets out there but I have a lesser respect for it. It just seems so easy. That's why I think if you write bad poetry, and I mean bad poetry, then you must suck altogether. I mostly write stories and essays. I think I want to be a journalist. I've been planning that for awhile but I don't know really now that college time is coming up.

Animals are my passion. I love animals. I'm a vegetarian. The only reason I'm not vegan yet is because I still live with my parents who don't want to deal with the extra planning and can't afford the extra costs. I've concinced my family to become vegetarian and I am damn proud. I am an activist meaning that I do things. I don't go "Yeah, I'm a veggie and you have to be one, too, or else." but I do love educating people who are respectful. If you want to say, "Well, I'm going to eat three cows for every one you don't eat." then go elsewhere you suck. If you have any honest and respectful questions then ask them and I will more than gladly answer them.

I volunteer at the animal shelter near my house. They are an open access kill shelter. This means they take in any animal that come to them but when there is no space or if health or temperament are bad animals are put to sleep. If, you have questions or comments about that feel free to comment or message me. The jobs I do there are TLC(Twice Loved Canines), Dog Walking and Humane Education. The first one TLC involves socializing shy or timid dogs and training rowdy and rambunxious dogs. Dog walking is pretty self explanatory but I'll explain anyway. I take the dogs out of their kennels, socialize, excercise them and study their behavior and health. I fill out forms to give information about their behavior to potiential adopters. I fill out forms on sick dogs and give them to the vets. Humane Education involves giving tours of the Humane Society and going to local schools. Another volunteer, a staff member and I explain to mostly elementary school and preschool children about kindess to animals, pet responsibilities, pet safety and pet overpopulation. It's awesome! I love doing it.

I guess now I'll tell you about my pets and family life. First, my pets. I have 2 dogs, 2 cats and 2 guinea pigs. I have a purebred German Shepherd Dog named Princess. She's almost 8 years old. We got her when she was 9 months old from the Humane Society where I volunteer, though, I wasn't volunteering there, yet. My other dog is a purebred Bloodhound named Wolfwood. He's about 3 and a half. We got him 2 months ago at the same shelter. My two cats are both black and white. One is longhair his name is Sosuke. One is shorthaired his name is Yetti. They are brothers. They turn 1 year old in 3 days, on May 3. I got them from one of my best friends when a very timid stray cat wandered into her yard, pregnant. She fostered the cat until it had the kittens and found homes for 3 of the 4. I took 2 and a friend of her brother took 1. She kept the other kitten and the mother. Both of my guinea pigs are females. They are both about 2 and a half. We got Minnie when she was 6 months old from someone whose piggy had had an accidental litter. We got the Sunny from the same shelter we got the dogs at about a month ago. I love them all like they're my kids.

My family consists of my dad, my mom, my sister, my brother, our pets and me. My dad is the sole income. My mom is disabled and therefore can't work. She has Multiple Sclerosis. She can't walk her and her motor skills are not so good. My brother doesn't live with us. He's a ward of the state for being a danger to himself and others. My sister runs away constantly and is gone right now. My brother is 15 months younger than me and my sister is 11 months younger than him.

There's probably more I could tell but my fingers hurt from typing and I'm sure you're sick of reading about me so...So long for now. Read again.

This is the most recent picture of me I have. It's about a month old so it's very recent.
