Fellowship with God

God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, (v.1) Hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son, whom He hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also He made the worlds; (v.2) Who being the brightness of His glory, and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high: (v.3) Hebrews 1:1-3

For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him: Colossians 1:16

And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead: Romans 1:4

According as He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love: Ephesians 1:4

God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord. 1 Cor. 1:9

Why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen Him go into heaven. Acts 1:11

Whom having not seen, ye love; in Whom, though now ye see Him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: 1 Peter 1:8

That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ. (v.3) And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. (v.4) This then is the message which we have heard of Him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all. (v.5) If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: (v.6) But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. (v.7) 1 John 1:3-7

That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thes. 1:12

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. ... having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:  Philippians 1:21, 23

For all the promises of God in Him are yea, and in Him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. 2 Cor. 1:20

In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; Titus 1:2

Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen. 1 Timothy 1:17

Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, 2 Timothy 1:9

According as His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 2 Peter 1:3

Of His own will begat He us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures. James 1:18

Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood, Revelation 1:5

The cream rises to the top.  In God's Word, at the very beginning of many of the New Testament epistles we receive the revelation from God of Who He is and what He desires with His creation.  Our greatest joy is to be found in fellowship with our Creator, the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the full expression of the eternal God.

How much joy is sought on this earth, and yet the greatest and highest joy can be found by anyone, anywhere, at any time, by seeking fellowship with God, who has revealed Himself in the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ.  We can know the forgiveness of sins, peace with God, the promise of an eternal bliss, a joy unspeakable and full of glory, and the daily companionship of our loving Creator, Who cares for us with a love so deep we cannot fully comprehend it.

The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; He will save, He will rejoice over thee with joy; He will rest in his love, He will joy over thee with singing.
Zephaniah 3:17

THE LOVE OF GOD
Words and Music by Frederick M. Lehman, 1868-1953

The love of God is greater far
than tongue or pen can ever tell;
It goes beyond the highest star,
and reaches to the lowest hell;
The guilty pair, bowed down with care,
God gave His Son to win;
His erring child He reconciled,
and pardoned from his sin.

Could we with ink the ocean fill,
and were the skies of parchment made,
Were every stalk on earth a quill,
and every man a scribe by trade,
To write the love of God above,
would drain the ocean dry.
Nor could the scroll contain the whole,
though stretched from sky to sky.

O love of God, how rich and pure!
How measureless and strong!
It shall forevermore endure
The saints’ and angels’ song.
