Honey Bear Cookies
2/3 cup honey
2/3 cup molasses
2/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter -- melted
1/3 cup egg -- slightly beaten
4 cups all-purpose flour
4 tsps baking powder
1 1/2 tsps ground cinnamon
1 1/2 tsps ground ginger
1/2 tsp ground cloves
Salt -- to taste
Combine and blend honey, molasses, brown sugar, butter and egg. Combine and sift together flour and remaining dry ingredients; add to honey mixture. Mix well. Refrigerate until chilled. Roll out 1/8-inch thick and cut with 3- to 4-inch bear cookie cutter. Bake at 350 degrees F oven 12 minutes until lightly browned. Brush with icing and decorate with currants or raisins, if desired.
Decorator's Icing: Mix 8 ounce sifted confectioners' sugar with 3 to 4 tbsps water to brushing consistency.
