Lenovo unveils MRT800 portable media player
Lenovo is already responsible for some nice laptops and notebooks, practically on top of their class with regard to reliability, but their range of products outside of which is unfortunately unknown. For example, recently announced their portable media players, the MRT800, is primarily a "Huh?" ... In view of the relative lack of popularity in America PGR.

But China-bounded MRT800 at first sight, is an attractive offer: a 4.3-inch touch screen device that unfortunately falls apart in its resolution, a paltry 480 × 272 (although the PGR are not known to their high-def).
Where it is more than impressed with several file formats: the Lenovo MRT800 coded for compatibility AVI, ASF, MP3, MP4, RMVB, FLAC, WAV, APE, OGG and WMA. The four MRT800 is the ubiquitous FM tuner and a microSD slot for further expansion.
This is not a bad little device, and if something like a laptop Lenovo offers solid start. The question is whether or not it will ever hit here. PGR overwhelmingly failed to capture the mood, for example, the iPhone or iPod Touch. It'sa pity: PMP offers built-in codec support for many video formats on a larger screen, with no mucking about conversion.

Yet, as far as appearance is concerned, the Lenovo MRT800 is at least as elegant and attractive than similar offerings. It would be good to see this come Stateside: Although it will be difficult to remove the iPod PMP hegemony, larger and more feature-rich devices are welcome to give Apple rearside start in shaping their own offers. Hope that Lenovo can make the leap.
