How do you change a video format from avi to mpg. I want to put a video on my ipod but Itunes wont take avi?
I recently downloaded a bunch of movies onto my computer and was planning on putting them on my ipod. The only problem is that the movies are in the AVI format and wont open in Itunes. How can I change it, or can I change it without having to download the video all over.

All you have to do is reformat it. If your on a mac, download a free program from google called "iSquint". If your on a PC or Linux computer just open your web browser and go to google. Just search the term "Free .avi to .mp4 converter". There should be a ton of hits. If you want a specific one just message me.
I recently put an AVI file onto a regular CD, and discovered that my DVD player hooked to the TV could read it. Now, the quality of the AVI was not the same as DVD quality. So how do I improve the quality? Should I change the AVI to another format? Or should I burn the AVI to a DVD disc? Once in AVI format (likely a ~700mb file right?) you cannot improve the quality. DVD players that upconvert to a HD output will not work either. And to burn to a DVD, you have the option to convert it to DVD format or leave it as AVI, either way will result in the same quality.
