All AVI media tips and tools for share

I've tried a few different converters and software including Nero and Roxio and can't seem to convert these files into working DVD format. Has anyone had any luck with these? The files are currently in .avi format and will only play on VLC Media Player, but I would like to convert them to DVDs. I appreciate any and all feedback. Thanks in advance! :)

I'm helping a guy who recently converted a VHS to DVD. I basically copied the DVD he had onto my HD, and converted everything into avi formats. So basically there's about 10 avi files. I'm going to find a way to combine them all as one movie, but how do I split the chapters up?

you can use the ulead video studio 11 or some other converter programs like power video converter or super video converter or video convert master and a lot of other converter programs but i think the ulead video studio is more easier to use

never. ever. it cannot support the file and it would be too big a file to fit on your micro sd. i have tried a long movie on my R4 but it was like 800 mb. Even if there was a hombrew that could support, way too big. So never. Unless you can get someone to make a shrinker which shrinks files it works with some files just not movies and picture and games though.

Depends on your converter, make sure you have selected the right options. But the most likely cause is that you don't have a proper AVI player. The one I use is VLC player (windows media player is not very good at playing avi files). DVD Ripper can best dvd ripper MPEG WMV DivX H.264/MPEG-4 AVC MP4 MP3 WMA excellently.
For some reason, when I export from final cut pro to AVI my video comes out of sync. When I export to QuickTime it's fine, however I really do need the video in the AVI format.
