RS Game Engine Update

RS Game Engine Update

This week Runescape we've made buy runescape money another  wow gold internal upgrade to the RuneScape  buy runescape gold game engine, which  RuneScape Money makes it possible for us to do more complex/varied updates in the future.

This time around the interface system has had another overhaul, with a large chunk of the system completely replaced with a more powerful version. We've then had to adjust and retest all the old interfaces to make sure they still work under the new system (a big job!).

One immediate improvement you'll notice with this update is some new 'hot keys'. Now, you can use F1 - F12 to open up most of your interfaces, and the 'escape' key will open your inventory. Once you get used to these, we're sure you'll find that it makes doing things much, much quicker.

The keys work like this:

Esc - Inventory
F1 - Combat options
F2 - Your statistics
F3 - Quest Journal
F4 - Equipped interface
F5 - Prayer
F6 - Spellbook
F8 - Friends list
F9 - Ignore list
F10 - Options interface
F11 - Emotes
F12 - Music Player

Most of the other changes that have been made aren't generally things that you'll notice immediately, but there's a surprisingly large amount of work involved in any engine upgrade. Admittedly, it's not the most exciting update in the short term, but it's definitely worth it in the long run!

All this frantic behind the scenes activity finally means we can now get started on some (much requested) updates to some of our main interfaces - updates which weren't previously possible, but now are! In the meantime, though, we've taken the opportunity to fix a few more bugs...

Recent Headlines for Guild Wars Gold

Recent Headlines for Guild Wars Gold

The latest edition of the State of the Game wow gold series of articles about the art of PvP in Guild Wars gold  has been posted on the Guild Wars official site. This week the focus is on Hero Battles.

Although Hero Battles are a relatively new venture in Guild Wars, they have matured rapidly since their inception. One could argue that implementing the 1v1 ladder and placing top Hero Battles on Observer Mode have rapidly developed the metagame for Hero Battles. Although many players would claim those features have stagnated Hero Battles, they have also generated more interest in this new form of PvP.

Going into a Hero Battle, a player needs a different frame of mind than other forms of PvP. Much like Alliance Battles, most effective characters in Hero Battles need a degree of self-sufficiency. Players tend not to bring a build balanced for 4v4 play because 4v4 battle occurs infrequently. If one of the players does not want to fight 4v4, it simply won't happen. Instead, a player can choose to split forces the whole time and concentrate on controlling shrines, earning one pip on the morale meter for outer shrines and two pips for the center. The more pips, the faster the score rises. Thus, most battles revolve around 1v1 or 2v2 skirmishes, and self-sufficient characters become crucial.

As a result, the popular metagame build is one Assassin (player-controlled) and three Heroes consisting of a Monk and two "Pack Hunters" (named after the Ranger/Paragon pre-made character template from the Nightfall preview). Some builds replace a Pack Hunter with another Monk, support character, damage dealer, or shutdown character.

Guild Wars Gold: War in Jeopardy

Guild Wars Gold: War in Jeopardy

Guild Wars Gold First of all, this game wow gold is awesome! I just created my first character, Warr/Necro. It's kinda frustrating going through pre-searring, but once I was out. wow, missions, quests, everything just opened up for me .

But... Since this is my first character, a few of his attribute isn't as well as I have imagined. So, again, I came to this forum looking for help.

My warrior mastered in Hammer, strength and curses, and my strategy was simple - to cripple the opponent with curses and then hit him with all i got. For most part, my warrior survived rather well. I was able to do damage up to 51, which I thought was pretty good for lvl 7.
But... um... you see, when I was planning this character, I didn't know that potion doesn't exist in Guild War >.<. On ... i think my second mission, our group did not have a healer, and from then on, it was a down hill for my warrior. The Charr mages (I forgot their name, but charrs holding staffs), could cast this life degenerating spell, and my warrior just get sucked dry by them. My healing signet doesn't heal fast enough... You get the idea, die-miserably.

So, I am wondering if anyone among you have a similar build to mine. If possible can you give me some advice on how to avoid dying with a W/N character? Thanks

Guild Wars Gold : State of the Game

Guild Wars Gold : State of the Game

This week's state of the game  Guild Wars Gold examines the midline role in GvG WoW Gold combat. They aren't the frontline tanks or the backline healers and buffers; they're the ambiguous midline whose role in combat is more complex and less clearly defined.

Working the Midline: Second Rate Positions or Critical Facilitators?

Ask GvGers what role they usually play and they'll normally respond with frontline, backline, or midline. The job of the frontline (Warriors, Dervishes, thumpers, etc.) is to disrupt, pressure, and, ultimately, kill the opposition. The role of the backline (primarily Monks, but perhaps including Ritualists) is equally clear--to keep the team alive. In contrast, the midline is less straightforward. Although a team might expect the midline to directly help kill targets or heal teammates, usually the midline's major role is to facilitate the frontline and backline in accomplishing their respective jobs. So how important is the midline?

Lines in the Sand

Players often debate which is more important: offense or defense, Warriors or Monks, frontline or backline. Rarely does someone espouse the importance of the midline over the frontline or the backline. In fact, when teams have new or less experienced players, it almost seems a forgone conclusion that they fill a midline role, while the most experienced players always end up in the frontline and backline roles. This sort of allocation could be a significant mistake. The midline's role is crucial to multiple players on the team because midliners provide both offensive and defensive support to the other lines. Thus weak play at the midline can hurt the team's ability to drop targets, while leaving Monks wide open to Warrior trains and other damage and disruption. So, while some may think the midline is a good place to hide inexperienced or mediocre players, these positions are such critical facilitators for a team's overall performance that it is possibly the worst place for these players. No matter how well your frontline and backline perform, it's hard to win if the midline doesn't do its job.

Recent Headlines for Guild Wars

Recent Headlines for Guild Wars

The folks over at Guild Wars Gold have penned an interesting article about their upcoming Eye of the North expansion, WoW gold detailing their focus on dungeons.

It's been two short years since our first game, Guild Wars Gold Prophecies, launched. In that time we've released two standalone campaigns that have expanded lore, increased the number of playable professions, widened skill sets, and have given players more control over their party members. Our current project, Guild Wars: Eye of the North, is our first true expansion, and one that we truly feel is a fitting coda that will guide players through the end of one epic story into the next evolution of the series, Guild Wars 2. We want Guild Wars to go out with a bang and leave a lasting impression on players, so we've decided to delve deep into RPG history in an attempt to recreate the thrill of the classic dungeon crawl.

Dungeons are a staple of the RPG genre. Ask any longtime roleplayer and he'll get misty-eyed and recall tense adventures in underground civilizations, navigating shadowy passageways and unearthing untold fortune. We knew it was the next logical addition, but we had to be sure it was implemented in such a way that was new and relevant to Guild Wars fans. So, what makes a GW: EN dungeon more exciting than your average hole in the ground? Lots of things, actually.

The labyrinthine underground known as the Depths is comprised of a vast network of passageways that touch continents near and far. GW: EN dungeons are not your typical dingy caves, mind you. They are rich with plant life, decorated with ornate carvings and majestic statues, and home to fantastic creatures. One of the biggest challenges our art department faced was to make each dungeon feel unique, while at the same time capturing the sense of an enclosed, sometimes claustrophobic, environment. Unlike the wide-open plains of Elona, groups will have less room to maneuver around obstacles. Enemies travel in high concentrations, so there will be little time to think or relax while pressing onward to the next objective. That stated, some dungeons are simply huge. Your party might trek through twisting pathways one moment, only to be spilled out into a huge open cavern the next.
