BUSH AND THE RUSSO-GEORGIAN CONFLICT

I find it ironic that Bush states that the Russia’s response to Georgia’s aggression, including firing on peacekeepers, is “unacceptable in the 21st century." Bush added that Russia has "invaded a sovereign neighboring state."

Did not Bush invade Iraq, a “sovereign state?” Unlike the Russo-Georgian conflict whereby Georgians fired upon Russians, Iraq did not fire upon innocent Americans (i.e. the 9/11 attack) prior to Bush’s bloody invasion. Also, unlike the Russo-Georgian conflict, Bush’s bloody Iraq war has resulted in the deaths of over 100,000 innocent Iraqi women and children and the displacement of millions of Iraqis with little remorse from our Commander-in-chief, Bush.

The leaders of Russia, Georgia and America have all committed unnecessary and irresponsible acts of violence. But before Bush condemns others, he must first look in the mirror and then apologize to the world for his aggressive, immoral, and unacceptable Iraq war.

SEN FLIP FLOP OBAMA!

Last year, Obama responded in a questionnaire that he would “aggressively pursue an agreement with the Republican nominee to preserve a publicly financed general election.”

Now, flip-flop Obama has reversed his campaign promise and will forgo public financing. Obama now says the “system is broken.” Why did it take Sen. Obama a year this long to figure out that the public financing system is “broken”?

Obama’s main reason: “John McCain’s campaign and the Republican National Committee are fueled by contributions from Washington lobbyists and special interest PACs.”

This is false. The truth, according to Annenberg Political Fact Check, is “donations from PACs and lobbyists make up less than 1.7 percent of McCain’s total receipts, and they account for only about 1.1 percent of the RNC’s receipts.” In 2004, PACs furnished about 10 percent of the DNC’s total fundraising, and only about 1 percent of the RNC’s total.

SEN OBAMA OR IS IT MR FLIP FLOP?

Last year, Obama responded in a questionnaire that he would “aggressively pursue an agreement with the Republican nominee to preserve a publicly financed general election.”

Now, flip-flop Obama has reversed his campaign promise and will forgo public financing. Obama says the “system is broken.” Why did it take Obama this long to figure out that the public financing system is “broken?” Obama, whose campaign is based on change and reform, shows his true character. He is a man of dubious integrity and one who does not keep his promises.

This should be no surprise. Obama first supported his pastor of 20 years, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, who preached racial hatred and anti-American sermons for years. Then, after an overwhelming public outcry, Obama broke ties with his pastor. This time it took Obama 20 years to deduce that his former pastor was making hateful remarks.

America needs a president who has character, not one who flip-flops like Obama.

INTEGRITY AND EXPERIENCE, NOT AGE

Kirsten Powers, a Clinton Democrat, once again rehashes the McCain’s age issue, something USA Today first wrote about in January of this year.

Powers believes that once you become a senior citizen, your faculties diminish, your life as you once knew it is over, and you soon die.

Powers needs a history lesson. Benjamin Franklin, a Founding Father, noted author, printer, scientist, inventor, and diplomat was over 71 years of age when The Pennsylvania Assembly unanimously chose Franklin as their delegate to the Second Continental Congress. In June 1776, Franklin, over 71 years young, was then appointed a member of the Committee of Five that drafted the Declaration of Independence.

Another example is Gen. Douglas MacArthur, who was over 70 years young when he was appointed commander of the UN forces after the surprise attack by the DPRK that started the Korean War in June,1950.

Powers and other Democrats must learn that “age” is not the issue, but the candidates...

LETTER TO THE POPE

Dear Holiness Pope Benedict XVI:

I attended a Jesuit University, St. Joseph's in Philadelphia, PA in The United States. I had the pleasure of meeting your predecessor, Pope John Paul II. Pope John Paul II stated that priests and nuns should eschew from politics. I hope you hold true the same belief. For over a year, Rev. Michael Pfleger of St Sabrina"s has been preaching political doctrine from the pulpit.

Recently, on May 25th, 2008, Pfleger gave a sermon where he mocked Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. Pfleger imitated Clinton by saying, "I really believe that she just always thought, 'This is mine. I'm Bill's wife. I'm white, and this is mine. I just gotta get up and step into the plate.' Then out of nowhere came, 'Hey, I'm Barack Obama,' and she said, 'Oh, damn! Where did you come from? I'm white. I'm entitled. There's a black man stealing my show!'"

SEN OBAMA AND HIS TAINTED JUDGMENT

In his first interview since the North Carolina and Indiana primaries, Obama said, "I think I've consistently displayed the kind of judgment that the American people are looking for in the next president."

Would one consider it “good judgment” in taking 20 years to finally realize that your most trusted friend and spiritual advisor, Rev. Wrights, is anti-American, racist (dislikes whites), and a lunatic. Rev. Wright made numerous anti-American speeches which came to a climax right after 9/11, six years before Obama announced hi candidacy for president.

For someone who bases his entire campaign on his nonsupport of Bush's war, is it “good judgment” for Obama to place money, his fundraisers, over fully attending the April 8 hearing with Gen. David Petraeus about the war? Obama left the hearing early to attend two campaign fundraisers. He obviously has confused priorities. And again last year, Obama was the only senator terribly late when Petraeus and...

PETA...KILLS MORE PETS THAN ITS SAVES

PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, preach one thing, but practice another. PETA's moto is "animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on, or use for entertainment.” It condemns the killing of animals. Yet to date, PETA has murdered more cats and dogs than any other organization. That’s right.

From July 1998 through the end of 2005, PETA murdered over 14,400 dogs, cats, and other "companion animals.” That's over five helpless animals per day. PETA puts to death nearly 90 percent of the animals it takes in.

This should be no surprise for this same organization advocated underage drinking at college campuses. PETA sponsored a campaign, complete with billboards, called "Got Beer?" which encouraged college students to drink beer instead of milk. This campaign was ended abruptly when MADD, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, condemned them.

PETA is an organization that needs to practice what it preaches and immediately stop murdering...

SEN OBAMA'S MINISTER WRIGHT

THE WASHINGTON TIMES…APRIL 30 TH , 2008

The Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr., Sen. Barack Obama's inflammatory former pastor, tried recently to defend his anti-American and baseless comments made from the pulpit ("Wright denies political ambition," Page 1, Monday). When confronted with questions, he tried to embarrass his questioners by asking when they last attended church. Well, not only do I attend church, I studied theology and graduated from a Catholic university.

Contrary to Mr. Wright's anti-American sermons, Jesus never preached the destruction of the Roman Empire, nor did he condemn it. Jesus never encouraged an attitude of rebellion against the Roman government. The separation of church and state is mentioned in the Bible. For example, Matthew 22:21: "Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's." A Christian's work is spiritual, not political.
REPUBLICANS MISSED THE BOAT ON SYNTHETIC FUELS

USA Today’s article Our view on energy prices: Soaring fuel costs spawn clamor for quick fixes failed to mention a program killed by the Republicans years ago that would have made us less dependent on the Middle East for oil.

The Synthetic Fuels Corporation was a U.S. government-funded corporation founded in 1980 to create alternatives to imported fuels (e.g. coal gasification). President Carter's program would have produced 2 million bbl. of oil per day, 40% of current petroleum imports in 1981, from plentiful American supplies of shale and coal The corporation was eliminated in 1985 by the Republican administration of Ronald Reagan.

In the early 1980s the price per barrel of oil was 35 dollars. When OPEC heard of America’s interest in developing synthetic fuel, the price per barrel of oil dropped to under $10, thus encouraging Reagan to kill the Synthetic Fuel program. Reagan was thinking short term and not long term and consequently made a naive, tragic mistake.

OBAMA CANNOT LEAD

Barack Obama has illustrated that he cannot choose wisely. There were numerous black churches in Chicago--radical, conservative, liberal, and moderate. He chose to become a member of a radical church, Trinity United Church of Christ, that preaches anti-American propaganda and racial slurs.

Obama’s most trusted advisor and minister, Jeremiah Wright, has preached anti-American sermons, yet Obama states that he was unaware of these even though sources place him there and claim he purchased tapes of some of these sermons. In a sermon after the 9/11 terrorist attack, Wright implied that America deserved the attacks.

Wright published his take on Jesus’ crucifixion in Trumpet magazine in 2007, which Obama reads. He labeled Jesus’ crucifixion as "a public lynching Italian style" executed in "Apartheid Rome."

POOR HEALTH DOESN'T MEAN POOR PRESIDENT

USA TODAY states that presidential candidates should have full disclosure of all data, including medical records (e.g. Sen. McCain). USA Today editors believe that if someone has a health problem, that makes them unfit to hold office.

Unbeknownst too many Americans, several Presidents have been ill, but this did not stop them from ruling efficiently. America’s earliest leaders, Washington, Jackson, and Taylor contacted numerous diseases, including dysentery, malaria and yellow fever. Washington almost died in office, and Jackson suffered pain constantly.

Abraham Lincoln, one of America’s greatest president, suffered illnesses, including bouts of depression. He succeeded in keeping the Union together and of addressing the issue of slavery.

FDR contracted polio in 1921 and was confined to metal braces and wheelchair, which was kept from the public. Did his physical handicap make him unfit to be president? FDR is considered by most historians, liberal and conservative alike,...

USA TODAY's editorial states: "Some of this data, such as tax and medical records, customarily emerge once the major party nominees are selected. Pope Benedict has emphatically embraced environmental protection, stressing that continued climate changes could destroy the human race.

Yes, Earth is experiencing rapid climate and environmental changes by the acts of man: The Arctic ice caps, which reflect some of the sun's rays and limit heating of the oceans, are shrinking at an alarming rate; glaciers are melting; one-fourth of the Amazon rain forest has been lost to deforestation; and animal species are appearing on the endangered list at a troubling rate, as their ecosystems are destroyed by industrialization.

MRS. OBAMA, THE UNPATRIOTIC

Michelle Obama recently told a Milwaukee crowd, “For the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country.”

Was not the self-centered Mrs. Obama (who was an adult at the time) proud of her country when the Berlin Wall came tumbling down, when America and her allies won the First Gulf War, and finally when we all came together (I guess except for the Obamas) as one immediately in the aftermath of 9/11? I am a proud American, unlike Michelle Obama.

America is facing real problems and valid threats: Bush’s deficit-ridden government is being sustained by Communist China (a key sponsor of America’s $9 trillion plus debt), Bush’s Iraq War has no end in sight, oil has topped $100 a barrel, over 75 per cent of the world’s population has a negative view of us, terrorism, and finally America is teetering on a recession.

HILLARY CLINTON, THE CRY BABY!!

Why are reporters and others harping on Hillary Clinton’s near tearful moment in New Hampshire to a lady’s question prior to her victory?

Clinton’s staff claims that Hillary is a woman of emotions, displaying her feelings in private. This false campaign rhetoric is in stark contrast to what their boss, Hillary, actually stated.

Hillary Clinton wrote this to a college friend: “Unthinking emotion has always been pitiful to me." In "For Love of Politics," Sally Smith’s book on Bill and Hillary Clinton, Hillary claims not to submit to emotion, even when others have. Even during her husband’s adulterous escapades, Hillary refused to show emotion, claiming it was for the weak.

It’s sad that some voters are so easily swayed by emotions and not substance. Real problems face Americans: Bush’s Iraq War, the economy, the devalued American dollar, price of oil, etc., which require an intelligent, organized, honest, moralistic person.
