Popular watch From Baselworld 2017 Patek Philippe 5320G

The brand’s well-heeled obsessives are toasting the retro-inflected cream-color dial of this perpetual calendar (which tracks the date for perpetuity, including leap years and months with 28 or 30 days) on a design that recalls Patek classics from the 1940s and 1950s

The numerals here are applied luminous white gold arabic with additional luminous dots at each hour, to match the hands. Down at 6 o'clock you see two apertures – one providing you a day/night indication, the other is a leap year indicator. This is indeed a slightly tweaked full rotor perpetual calendar mechanism for Patek – now called the caliber 324SQ – which you can see through the caseback.

Patek Philippe 5320G is everything you'd need it to be at 40mm with really nice slightly downturned lugs. I saw a picture of the 5320 online before my meeting with Patek yesterday and just from its look you'd think it's 36mm but it's definitely a modern watch and feels like one too.

IWC Da Vinci collection brand-new perpetual calendar

IWC Da Vinci collection was notably able to build on a brand-new perpetual calendar, which featured two unique characteristics: a four-digit display of the year, as well as pre-synchronized operation. A single press on a corrector moves forward the entire set of indications linked to the date. This perpetual calendar has been constantly improved and therefore logically takes its place in the new generation of Da Vinci timepieces

It is fitted with a large crown, along with notched pushers in the case of this perpetual calendar chronograph. With this stainless steel model powered by an entirely in-house-made movement, IWC is wagering on its four key assets.

Polished stainless steel case, transparent sapphire caseback, water-resistant to 30m SIZE : 43 x 15.5mm MOVEMENT : mechanical self-winding, Caliber 89630, 68h power reserve, red gold oscillating weight FUNCTIONS : hours, minutes, small seconds, stop seconds, flyback chronograph and concentric display at 12 o’clock, perpetual calendar showing the day, date, month, fourdigit year indication, moon phases.
