BUSH, RHETORIC, AND BS
Bush, as his press secretary Tony Snow stated in the past, is an embarrassment. A man of dubious character, Bush is a compulsive liar.
Now, to make his case for support and funding of his catastrophic Iraq war, Bush exaggerates a claim that bin Laden and al Qaeda were to use Iraq as a staging place for attacks on America. Making his case, Bush cites “intel” coerced from a captured man, Abu Faraj al-Libbi (not to be confused with Ibn Shaykh al-Libbi, detained after 9/11, and who disavowed his admission about Saddam Hussein having relations with al-Qaeda). The CIA and FBI cannot agree what relationship if any Abu Libbi had with al Qaeda or if he would even be conscious of bin Laden’s plans. He was never on the FBI Most Wanted List.
Bush, like his words of mass deception and mass hysteria prior to the Iraq war, continues to prey upon the fears of Americans to falsely justify his immoral and senseless war in Iraq. It’s time for Americans and Democrats in Congress to wake up and stand up to Bush and his propaganda machine and demand an exit strategy in Iraq.
