THE REPUBLICANS AND MORALITY
Bush and the republicans campaigned on bringing morality and integrity to the nation’s capitol and America. However, all they have brought is lies, immorality, war, and death.
Bush and company, used lies and inflated intelligence (weapons of mass destruction) to stir American’s emotions into supporting an unjust invasion of Iraq. Now nearly 4,000 American soldiers and over 100,000 Iraqi women and children are dead. Some Congressional Republicans who supported family values secretly engaged in adultery, homosexuality, and immorality. Former congressman Mark Foley, R-Fla, resigned after his sexual talks with teen-pages became public, Sen. David Vitter, R-La., acknowledged that his phone number appeared in records of a Washington, DC prostitution business, and now Sen. Larry Craig, R-Idaho, pleaded guilty to a disorderly conduct charge (propositioning another male in the bathroom).
There are investigations of republicans for who have taken illegal donations or have misused funds. For example, Sen. Ted Stevens, R-Alaska, is under investigation for his association with a contractor who managed a renovation project that more than doubled the size of the senator’s home. Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R-TX, had to resign over numerous ethics violations and federal investigations.
Republicans must stop being hypocrites and practice what they preach. Honesty and morality should be embraced by all, especially by Bush and his fellow republicans.
