DOUBLE STANDARD FOR LEAKS

G.W. Bush and Cheney harshly condemned the revelation of a program to secretly monitor the financial transactions of suspected terrorists. Both specifically condemned the New York Times, as “disgraceful,” ignoring The Wall Street Journal (a conservative propagandist for the administration) and LA Times, which also published the story.

Where was Bush’s condemnation for the exposing of a CIA agent, Wilson's wife, Valeria Plame, by his administration? Robert Novak, the reporter whom the Bush administration supplied with the classified intel on Plame, acknowledged that Bush knows who leaked the CIA's agents identity. Vice President Cheney, former White House aide Libby, and White House counsel Rove were all involved, yet NO outrage from Bush. Why???????

Plus, Bush and his staff selectively leaked out classified intel on Iraq's supposedly secret weapons of mass destruction prior to the Iraq war to various newspapers, including The New York Times, to influence public opinion; yet no Justice Department official investigated these outrageous propaganda leaks. Why was it appropriate for Bush and his staff to leak classified intel to sway the hesitant public into supporting an illegal war?

Bush is a hypocrite who will use any means, illegal, lying, or immoral to accomplish his hidden agenda.

BUSH THE "NAY SAYER"

What has happened to America’s confidence and spirit of achieving? G. W. Bush is not an inspiring leader or a man that inspires greatness. He is more a non achiever than a doer.

Bush invaded Iraq and now states that it will be up to “future presidents” to decide when to leave. Bush stated that we “cannot win the war on terror.” Bush declared that illegal immigration cannot be halted and that America needs illegal immigrants for jobs that Americans cannot or won’t do. Bush acknowledged that he cannot balance the budget. Unlike past presidents, Bush is not leading the coalition on peace in the Mideast .

Well, I am tired of hearing what Bush cannot do. We need a president like Franklin Roosevelt, who did not give up on Americans during her darkest hour, the depression, and instead fed the poor, created jobs for the unemployed, established social security, and defeated the Nazis. Or how about John Kennedy, who, despite numerous setbacks for NASA, stated that we need to “land a man on the moon” in less than 9 years. And America did! These two presidents inspired greatness and confidence. They pushed America to achieve desired goals.

America needs a president who can accomplish results and inspire greatness and not a naysayer like Bush.

Bush is, as his press secretary Tony Snow exclaimed, an “embarrassment!”

WHO'S AFRAID OF THE MIDTERM ELECTIONS?

The Republican Congress, fearful of the midterm elections, is grandstanding on Bush’s war in Iraq. The Republican Congress, like Bush, has no coherent plan for victory or exit strategy on Iraq. Bush’s War has cost nearly $300 billion of which billions have been wasted on fraudulent practices. Why doesn’t the Republican Congress use its oversight abilities and investigate/prosecute the GAO’s list of fraudulent practices of American companies in Iraq? To date, little has been done.

Naïve Republicans are still falsely equating Bush‘s attack on Iraq with 9/11. “When our freedom is challenged, Americans do not run,” House Speaker Dennis Hastert, R-Ill., said in remarks loaded with references to the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. After numerous painstaking investigations by Congress, the CIA, and the FBI, NO connections were found between Hussein’s Iraq and 9/11 or for that matter, al Qaeda itself. Also, no weapons of mass destruction existed in Iraq. Hussein’s Iraq did not inhibit Americans’ freedom in any manner whatsoever!

However, to illustrate the insensitive Republicans, let‘s look at a statement made on behalf of G. W. Bush by his spokesman, Tony Snow, regarding the 2,500th American soldier fatality in Iraq: “It’s a number.” Well, Bush, it may be just a number to you, but to me and many others, it is another precious life lost by your phony war in Iraq.

Bush and his Republicans need to develop an effective exit strategy ASAP and stop their senseless grandstanding. People are dying in Iraq, and I hope someone cares enough to stop the nonsense.

ANN COULTER, REPUBLICAN PUNDIT, LUNATIC OR COMEDIAN?

Republican Ann Coulter is more in tune with terrorists than with Americans. Coulter spouts hatreds and untruths and her books resemble Hitler’s Mein Kamp.

Coulter adopted a Hitler-like concept of war and extermination: “We (U.S.A) should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity. We weren't punctilious about locating and punishing only Hitler and his top officers. We carpet-bombed German cities; we killed civilians.” Coulter advocates indiscriminate killing of Muslim babies, children and women. She supports a Muslim genocide. Coulter added, “…I think the government should be spying on all Arabs, engaging in torture as a televised spectator sport, dropping daisy cutters wantonly throughout the Middle East, and sending liberals to Guantanamo" (12/21/05). Her comments are posted on numerous radical Muslim sites which aid in recruitment and attacks against Americans.

Coulter even called for another terrorist attack on New York: "My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times building" (New York Observer interview, 26 August, 2002).

Coulter, known for her insensibility, slammed American Veterans by shouting to a disabled Vietnam vet: "People like you caused us to lose that war"(MSNBC). Now, Coulter has condemned some 9/11 families as profiteers and opportunists. Coulter stated that they enjoyed the tragedies that befell on their loved ones. It is very sad that a non-Christian, evil-hearted Coulter would condemn Americans who suffered so severely.

Coulter who claims to be a Christian, has this view of Jesus Christ’s birthday: “Oh, it was so much fun this year, because saying ‘Merry Christmas’ is like saying ‘F... you!’ I’ve said it to everyone.” Coulter, unlike true Christians who endorse Jesus’ message of Peace, embraces violence, "If those kids had been carrying guns they would have gunned down this one [child] gunman. ... Don't pray. Learn to use guns” (Politically Incorrect, 12/18/97).

Coulter is obviously a very disturbed, violent person. She should be placed in a nice padded room and treated for her many instabilities. Anyone that endorses Coulter’s maniacal beliefs or purchase her books, should be placed alongside her.

THE "DO NOTHING" CONGRESS

George Bush is pushing for a Constitutional Amendment to ban gay marriages, even though his vice-president, Cheney, whose daughter is gay, supports gay marriages. With numerous problems of more importance facing Americans: the war in Iraq, the sagging economy, the ever increasing deficit, and immigration, I find this outrageous that Bush and the Republican-controlled congress would place gay marriages at the top of the list.

Nearly 2500 Americans and almost 100,000 innocent Iraqis have perished in Bush’s Iraq War. Bush has no exit strategy or plan for victory. War crimes perpetrated by American soldiers (e.g. Haditha, Abu Ghraib) are on the rise. Bush and his allies seek to cover-up these crimes. A majority of Afghans and Iraqis want us out of their countries.

Since Bush’s tenure, North Korea produced atomic bombs, and now Iran is close to acquiring one. The world has become increasing unstable under Bush’s leadership. The world, over 75 per cent, has a negative opinion of America under Bush’s leadership.

In 2001, we went from a surplus budget to the largest deficit in America’s history. The Iraq war, alone, is costing $177 million a day.

After six long years, Bush and the Republicans still do not have a handle on immigration. Over 1000 illegal aliens cross the border every day.

This year, let’s elect a non republican-Congress that is more focused on the larger, important issues facing Americans, before it is too late!

WAR CRIMES IN IRAQ

Last November, U.S. marines killed more innocent Iraqi civilians, 24, including a baby and small children, in Haditha. President Bush responded, "I am troubled by the initial news stories," but once again showed little remorse for the murdered innocent Iraqis. This is not the first time U.S. forces killed innocent Iraqis. There have been numerous, Iraqi women and children killed by undisciplined American soldiers and American helicopter and plane attacks. Since the U.S. invasion of Iraq, nearly 100,000 innocent Iraqis have been murdered.

Since Bush’s victory speech three years ago, U.S. deaths in Iraq have risen 1700 per cent. Innocent Iraqi deaths have sky rocketed. The cost of the Iraqi war has escalated to over $300 billion.

Bush proclaims to be a Christian, yet acts more like the devil. A Christian is: "One who believes, or professes to believe in Jesus Christ, and the truth as taught by Him; especially, one whose inward and outward life is conformed to the doctrines of Christ."

Jesus’ teachings involved two commandments: "LOVE GOD, AND LOVE THY NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF." Jesus stated that this was the whole of God’s commands. Jesus advocated peace.

Bush, who advocates violence and death (the Iraq invasion where nearly 100,000 civilians have been murdered), needs to learn the true definition of a Christian and abide by Jesus' command of love and peace.
