Why does most of the world's population hate us?
Most Americans, including George Bush, believe that others are jealous of our prosperity and Christian beliefs. These simple-minded answers don't even scratch the surface of world hatred against
America.
Most foreigners dislike America because of our foreign policy. U.S. foreign policy is influenced chiefly by our economy (big business). To truly understand American policy, you need to look no further than the once top secret State Department
Policy Planning Study 23 written a few years ago:
We have about 50% of the world's wealth, but only 6.3% of its population.... In this situation, we cannot fail to be the object of envy and resentment. Our real task in the coming period is to devise a pattern of relationships, which will
permit us to maintain this position of disparity.... To do so, we will have to dispense with all sentimentality and daydreaming; and our attention will have to be concentrated everywhere on our immediate national objectives.... We should cease to
talk about vague and...unreal objectives such as human rights, the raising of the living standards, and democratization. The day is not far off when we are going to have a deal in straight power concepts. The less we are then hampered by idealistic slogans,
the better. As is plainly evident, U.S. policy has been and still is dictated by our economy (big business). The U.S. main focus is on our burgeoning economy and less with promoting democracy ad human rights. The U.S. will stop at nothing to satisfy its thirsty economy. America has and always will be a chief sponsor of dictators that supply our economy with raw materials and/or aid our vast military machine with bases and refueling ports. The following is a few examples of America's friends:
Chiang Kai-shek and his son Chiang-kou in Taiwan
Ferdinand Marcos in the Philippines
Ngo Dinh Diem (assassinated on president Kennedy's orders), Gens Nguyen Kahnh, Nguyen Cao Ky, and Nguyen Van Thieu in South Vietnam (US Military and CIA involvement)
General Lon Nol in Cambodia
General Phoumi Nosavan in Laos
Marshals Pibul Songgram, Sarit Thanarat, Praphas Charusathien, and Thanom Kittikachorn in Thailand
General Suharto in Indonesia (CIA installed)
Syngman Rhee in S. Korea (U.S. military installed)
Shah Palavi in Iran (CIA installed)
Batista y Zaldiva (US installed), Fidel Castro (CIA installed) in Cuba
General Rafael Trujillo in Dominican Republic (U.S. involvement).
Anastasio Somoza in Nicaragua (U.S. installed)
General Manuel Noriega in Panama (CIA installed)
Papa Doc and Baby Doc Duvalier in Haiti (CIA installed)
General Augusto Pinochet in Chile (CIA installed) What do all these dictators and tyrants have in common? The Answer is American aid and support. Also, these tyrants are listed as some of the worst human rights violators. Together, these tyrants are responsible for the deaths of over 3 million innocent children, women, and men.
Let's consider General Augusto Pinochet, a CIA installed dictator following the ouster of the popularly elected Salvador Allende of Chile in 1973. In his seventeen years of rule, he tortured, killed, or liquidated over 10,000 people. He, along with the Argentine dictator, sponsored Operation Condor--a plan to murder dissidents in the U.S., Spain, and elsewhere (
Blowback, Chalmers Johnson). Recently, Pinochet was detained in London (10/16/98) at the request of the Chilean court. Pinochet was under
indictment for genocide, torture, and state terrorism. The U.S. Secretary of State at the time, Madeleine Albright, opposed Pinochet's extradition, stating Chile was undertaking a "transition to democracy" and past leaders should be exempt from prosecution for past human rights offenses. Pincohet is typical of the preceding list of
dictators, and former Secretary Albright's staunch defense of his murderous rule is typical of America's closed eyes to human rights violators who kiss America's ass.
It is said that "politics makes for strange bedfellows." However, America needs to stop sleeping win the same bed with abusive dictators. The U.S. and CIA must cease overthrowing democracies, cease training countries military and security forces which are utilized for to torture and murder political dissents, and cease robbing countries
of their raw resources. America must immediately begin to promote 'PEACE' throughout the world and become a champion fro human rights. Citizens of the U.S. must hold elected officials to a righteous, non-interventions, peaceful course. If the actions are adopted, terrorism against America will be reduced.
