CHANGE IS OVERDUE IN AMERICA

George Bush has been a failure as president. His numerous failures outweigh his limited achievements.

When Bush came to office in 2001, unemployment was 4.2 percent. Now it is up 17 percent to 4.9 percent. The healthy economy Bush inherited in 2001 is in ruins. The $281 billion surplus in 2001 is now a $400 billion deficit. The U.S. debt has grown from $5.7 trillion to $8.2 trillion--an amazing 44 percent increase.

Bush inflated and distorted pre-war intelligence on weapons of mass destruction to illegally invade a sovereign country, Iraq. A violation of international law and what the United States condemned Nazi Germany for at Nuremberg. Bush then stated at a December 12th speech in Philadelphia that he would have attacked Iraq regardless of the weapons of mass destruction. Over 2,000 Americans are dead and nearly 35,000 Iraqi women and children have been murdered since Bush's invasion of Iraq. Bush, in violation of the UN Ban on Torture and the Geneva Convention, hid prisoners, tortured prisoners, and denied the Red Cross access to prisoners. The secret prisons were established by the CIA over four years ago. U.S. occupation in Iraq has been a factor in radicalizing the Palestinians and increasing terrorism abroad.

Bush authorized a secret Pentagon program for "detecting, identifying and engaging" internal enemies that included a database with information on peace protesters. Also, Bush authorized the FBI's use of national security letters to obtain secret access to the personal records of tens of thousands of Americans. Plus, Bush empowered other National Security Agency's interception of telephone calls and e-mails from the United States -- without notice to the federal court that has held jurisdiction over domestic spying since 1978. Bush's comment on this is that he circumvented the law, which is in itself a violation of the law.

Bush's slow and inadequate response to Katrina resulted in the deaths of over 1000 helpless Americans. Bush congratulated his former FEMA leader, Brown, for doing "one heckofa job;" only for Americans to find out later that Bush and his associates were totally inept and useless.

Bush and his staff accepted contributions for favors from corrupt lobbyist Abramoff.

America needs change immediately, Bush has squandered opportunity after opportunity. Bush's mistakes, poor choices, and bad management have had severe consequences on Americans and others, resulting in numerous deaths at home and abroad and a very, shaky economy. This year, Americans need to change the political status quo.

BUSH: "The people are demanding honest government."

George Bush commented on the recent victory of Hamas in Palestian territory, "The people are demanding honest government."

Well, Mr. Bush, Americans, too, are demanding an honest executive branch. As recent polls have illustrated, most Americans hold firm that Bush is dishonest and a failure as a leader.

Bush's failures outnumber his achievements. Bush failed America with his lackluster, slow-paced response to Katrina, resulting in the death of over 1000 Americans (the majority dying after the storms impact). Bush's comment on the surprised Hamas victory included this, "...that it's a wake-up call to the leadership." Americans have awakened here, too, and are voicing loudly their disapproval of Bush's policies and lies. Americans need to continue to hold Bush accountable for his numerous failures and lies.

This year, Americans need to change the political status quo.

PAT ROBERTSON IS NOT A CHRISTIAN

Anyone who supports the 700 club or Pat Robertson is no Christian. Pat Robertson is not a Christian.

Robertson once again speaks more like the devil than a follower of Jesus. This time , Robertson stated that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's stroke was divine punishment for withdrawing from the Gaza Strip. Robertson supports no peaceful solution to the Palestian problem. This is not unusual for Robertson who has always condoned violence, hatred and murder.

In the past, Robertson stated, "If he thinks we're trying to assassinate him( Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez), I think that we really ought to go ahead and do it. It's a whole lot cheaper than starting a war" (August 2005). Robertson is well-known for hatred, violence, and immorality. In October 2003, he exclaimed, "Maybe we need a very small nuke thrown off on Foggy Bottom (State Department) to shake things up."

The definition of a Christian is as follows: "One who believes, or professes to believe in Jesus Christ, and the truth as taught by Him; especially, one who’s inward and outward life is conformed to the doctrines of Christ." The disciples were called Christians first in Antioch (Acts 11:26).

Jesus said to his followers to enlist disciples by teaching them to follow what he had commanded. Jesus informed them to do this before his crucifixion. Consequently, a follower of Jesus {Christian) only involved abiding by Jesus’ teachings. Jesus’ teachings involved two commandments: "LOVE GOD, AND LOVE THY NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF." Jesus stated that this was the whole of God’s commands.

Unlike Jesus who never called for the assasination of any Roman leader nor violence and/or murder for any reason, Robertson is more kin to the Devil and his violent and murderous ways.

BUSH AND WIRETAPPING

George Bush states repeatedly that he has Constitutional authority to conduct wiretaps without a court order. Bush fails to specifically cite what in the Constitution provides him with dictatorial powers.

Wiretapping without a court order is illegal. Three separate laws make it a crime to engage in electronic surveillance unless specifically authorized by statute.50USC 1809, 47 USC 605, and 18 USC 2511. The U.S. constitution outlaws unlawful wiretaps: The Fourth Amendment provides that "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

The Reagan Administration argued that the President had the power to authorize domestic surveillance of subversives residing in America. The case was handled by current Supreme court nominee Samuel Alito while he was working in Reagan's Justice Department. The U.S. Supreme Court rejected Reagans's contention that the courts were not adequate to deal with the sensitive classified information, could not make knowledgeable judgements about the threats to national security, and that the President had dictatorial authority to order wiretaps without the Courts. Even if the wiretaps were "reasonable" the Supreme court wrote, they violated the Fourth Amendment.

Also, a majority of Americans are against unauthorized wiretaps regardless of Bush's rhetoric in rationalizing the illegal surveillance.

George Bush has violated the law and and needs to be held accountable for assuming dictatorial powers in a democracy.

IS GW BUSH A CHRISTIAN?

George Bush and most Americans proclaim loudly and consistently that they are "Christians."

On January 4th, another US plane bombed the wrong target injuring and killing civilians. This time six innocent Iraqi were murdered and three others, including a small child was wounded. The U.S. military statement on the bombing was that the bomb had "...successful effects against insurgents." Where was the apology and condolences to the family for this outrageous tragedy?

Bush and his staff also show little remorse on innocent Iraqi civilian deaths. Regarding the January 4th military mistake, the White House issued the following, "...the military goes out of the way to avoid civilian casualties." Bush very rarely comments on the over 30,000 innocent Iraqi deaths.

Bush, who trumpets his Christianity and morals continuously, is a hypocrite. Why doesn't he show more remorse for the murdered, innocent Iraqis?

A Christian is: "One who believes, or professes to believe in Jesus Christ, and the truth as taught by Him; especially, one whose inward and outward life is conformed to the doctrines of Christ." The disciples were called Christians first in Antioch (Acts 11:26).

Jesus’ teachings involved two commandments: "LOVE GOD, AND LOVE THY NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF." Jesus stated that this was the whole of God’s commands. Jesus advocated peace.

Bush, who advocates violence and death, needs to learn the true definition of a Christian and abide by Jesus' command of love and peace.

"TEN MINUTES OF FAME?"

Once again, another spoiled, immature American tries to capture his 10 minutes of fame. 16 year old Farris Hassan, seeking public attention, ventured aimlessly into a war zone. Hassan, with his father and relatives' help, ran off to Iraq to "observe" the war front.

Why is the media being so kind to Hassan and his reckless, selfish exploits? Hassan should be condemned and punished for his immature, dangerous shenanigans and his parents should be ridiculed for helping him and for their lack of parental guidance and common sense.

Hassan ventured into a country, Iraq, where thousands have been kidnapped, tortured and or murdered.

The prestigious, American 101st Airborne, instead of conducting vital security missions, had to babysit the immature Hassan for nearly two days.
Hassan should not receive glory, but condemnation for his selfish, irresponsible, dangerous actions.

His family should be made to reimburse the Armed Services for their manpower and time in securing him.

WHERE'S BUSH'S OUTRAGE?

George Bush stated that revealing the recent illegal domestic spying on Americans causes "great harm." Bush demanded an investigation into whom leaked the illegal program.

Why didn't Bush condemn the exposing of a CIA agent, Wilson's wife, Valeria Plame, by his administration? Robert Novak, the reporter whom the Bush administration supplied with the classified info on Plame, reiterated that Bush knows who leaked the CIA's agents identity. Vice president Cheney, Presidential and vice-presidential advisor Libby, and Rove were all involved, yet NO outrage from Bush. Why???????

Also, Bush and his staff leaked out classified intel on Iraq's supposedly secret weapons of mass destruction prior to the Iraq war to various newspapers, including The New York Times; yet no Justice Department official investigated these outrageous propaganda leaks. Why was it appropriate for Bush and his staff to leak classified intel just so he could sway the hesitant public into supporting an illegal war?

Bush is a hypocrit who will use any means, illegal, lying, or immoral, to accomplish his hidden agenda.

God help America.
