Ambassador's Visit

Ambassador's Visit
-
Little Stars is delighted to announce that our new West Bank Clinic (which offers free physiotherapy treatment to disabled children), had a surprise official visit this week from the British Ambassador to Egypt Sir. Dominic Asquith.  The Ambassador was accompanied by the British Consul Mr. Richard Fielder and Luxor's Honorary Consul Mr. Ehab Gaddis.  The clinic is very close to Qurna Hospital and will officially open next week when children will resume their treatment.

Although the Ambassador and the British Consul were on a flying visit and therefore on a very tight schedule, they stayed at the clinic for a long time and inspected every part of it.  Particular interest was shown not only in the medical side of the clinic but also in its food distribution programme which is already fully operational.

They were introduced to our Chairman Connie Tindale, the clinic's manager, all the staff, Mr. Charles Woods who is one of our main supporters in Luxor and the local volunteers who are essential to the food distribution programme.  All were praised for the work they were doing and told that they could be very proud of what they had achieved in the short time since Little Stars began.

It was a very auspicious start for the clinic and we are grateful to have received the Ambassador's attention.  We are all sure that the clinic has a bright future and will give desperately needed help to Luxor's poorest children.

Photos of the new clinic will be shown in the October Newsletter.

With you we can do so much
Without you the clinic would not exist.
