Little Stars Foundation

Little Stars Foundation

Little Stars has grown at a greater rate than anyone could have predicted.  Its accomplishments and the number of peope it has helped over the last eighteen months have been immense.  While Little Stars is and always will be primarily a British Charity, everyone concerned with the orgnaisation feels that the time has come to put Little Stars on an official footing in Egypt by becoming a registered Foundation.  We have chosen to become a Foundation rather than an Association because with this framework the benefits in terms of what we can do in Egypt and what we can achieve in helping people far outweigh any administrative problems.

Little Stars deals with children and this means that we have to do particularly careful in what we do and who we employ.  Our Administrator is a highly trained and skilled Senior Social Services Officer and now a similar Egyptian Social Services Officer will become part of the board to ensure that everything is in order both legally and professionally.  We welcome this assistance.  The input will be invaluable.

This is a major step forward in ensuring that Little Stars remains one of the biggest, most respected and admired charities in Luxor.   We thank our lawyer Mr. Khaled Abu Shamya for undertaking this registration on our behalf.

With you we can do so much

Without you we can do nothing.

Clinic Opening Day

Clinic Opening Day

We are very proud to announce that today is the official opening of the new clinic on the west bank of the Rive Nile.  The ribbon will be cut by Mr. Ehab Gaddis the Honorary Britsh Consul at 2.30 pm and there is to be a party for all the local children.

We are also proud that visitors to our main website have now exceeded 10,000.  This is remarkable achievement for a small charity with its present website being only a little over a year old.  We thank all those wonderful people who have given links to Little Stars on their own websites.

If you are in Luxor please celebrate with us.  If not, then we will put lots of photos in our next newsletter.

Official Opening of new West Bank Clinic

www.LittleStars-Luxor.org

Official Opening of the new West Bank Clinic

The new clinic on the west bank opened a few weeks ago and has been very successful in providing treatment for disabled children.  Now the clinic is to be officially opened over the space of two days in January and everyone is invited to join in the celebration.  The clinic would not have been possible without your help.

In accordance with local customs, there will be a blessing from the Sheikh with a Koran reading on Friday 9th January.  There will be an offering of a sheep which will later be distributed to the poor families on our distribution and sponsorship lists.

Then on 10th January, Mr. Ehab Gaddis the Honorary British Consul will officially cut the ribbon and open the clinics doors.  There will be a party for our patients and the local children with a band, a pantomime horse and a whirling man.  Party food will be provided for the children and refreshments for guests.

If you are in Luxor then come and celebrate with us.  The clinic is just past Qurna Hospital on the 'Sugar Cane' Road and the Koran reading and Official Opening start at 2.30 pm on each day.

 Happy New year
