New Internet Shop

New Internet Charity Shop

We have a wonderful innovation for Little Stars for the New Year when we hope the new Internet Charity Shop will open.  The shop will donate 100% of its profits to Little Stars and is being developed and maintained completely free of charge.

http://www.Luxor4ever.com

The shop will sell Egyptian items and souvenirs plus belly dancing costumes and accessories.  There will also be a stock of jewellery, papyrus, textiles and statues.

In addition the Luxor4u Network site that is being developed has pledged 10% of its profits from all sources to Little Stars.

To encourage European children to take an interest in children from other countries, we may offer a school project service which could run alongside the new "Adopt an Egyptian Family" scheme.  Cheryle Taylor will be in charge of the sponsorship schemes and school links.  She can be reached on

The New year has exciting prospects for Little Stars and we welcome your participation in fund raising.  If you have an idea for a fund raising event then please let us know

Little Stars in Croatia

Knowledge of the work of Little Stars is now spreading throughout the world and we are delighted to learn that Little Stars has been chosen as the preferred charity of the new Croatian Branch of the Knights Templar.  Fifty new Knights were inaugurated this week, an event which was reported in the Croatian press and on the radio where Little Stars was mentioned several times.

Luxor's children need you more than ever now with food prices spiralling and the world recession growing, and we warmly welcome our new supporters.

Malicious Website

www.LittleStars-Luxor.org

Fraudulent and Malicious Website Blog

We are aware that a web-based blog has been set up fraudulently using the Little Stars logo with minor changes but which could still mislead people into thinking that it was the Little Stars Blog.  Please be aware of this site as we believe it could be used to illegally gain funds.  Also, the site may have been started by a suspected paedophile in Luxor in an effort to gain unauthorised access to children by pretending to be from Little Stars charity.

All successful charities suffer abuse at various times and it could be considered a measure of our success that we are yet again subject to vitriol from the sociopaths in society.

Little Stars has ignored all previous attacks but this time as our logo has been fraudulently used we will pursue the matter through all official channels and have already reported the site to the Internet Police, the Blog Hosts, the British Embassy, and the Charity Commission and will report it to the Security Police in Luxor at the earliest opportunity.

The aim of Little Stars is to help and protect children: malicious clone sites can only damage such efforts and it is the disadvantaged children of Luxor that ultimately suffer.

Thank You

Thank You

We would like to thank all our supporters for their generosity during the year.  We have been given a batch of lovely papyrus scrolls which we are sending out to everyone as a thank you.  As these have been given to Little Stars they are not a drain on the charity's funds.  If you do not receive your papyrus please let us know.

In particular we would like to thank the Order of St. Lazarus for their magnificent gift of £1,000 sterling which arrived yesterday.  It was a perfect Christmas present which will be put towards Little Stars projects.  We are overwhelmed with such generosity and cannot thank them sufficiently for thier kindness.

Thanks are also offered to all the wonderful people who have signed up to the 'Adopt an Egyptian Family' scheme.  Times are hard throughout the world and it is especially thoughtful to care for others when funds are not freely available.

Adopt an Egyptian Family

Adopt an Egyptian Family

Our new 'adopt an Egyptian family' scheme has only been running for a very short time but has already been successful.  People have signed up to give £10 per month to assist their family about whom they will have photos, regular updates and contact should they visit Luxor.

The families within the scheme are those in dire poverty, mainly widows with young children, or those whose father is very ill and cannot support them.  Money is not given directly to any family as then we could not guarantee where it would be spent, but it will be used by Little Stars to provide the family with extra food, meat and milk for the children.  Little Stars will also ensure that the children have the opportunity to attend school and that they have all the clothing, school items  and medicines that they need.

In one family, Little Stars is buying furniture as the children are sleeping on the floor.  This would not be so dreadful had it not been on the mud floor which can be damp from rising water due to the constant irrigation of surrounding fields.  Having no beds leaves the children vulnerable to attack from vermin, beetles and scorpions.  The children are five and four years old and the mother scrapes a meagre living sellilng eggs.  Little Stars would like to set the woman up with a stock of food so that she can set up a small shop for her neighbours.  In this way she canl restore her pride and with a small but regular income, she will be able to take over more of the responsibility of looking after her children.  We estimate that this will cost around £150 for food stock and shelving.  It is a large sum in Egypt but it is small when you consider what it could achieve.

If you would like to adopt a family, then please contact us.  There are many more families in desperate need than we have sponsors to care for them.

With you we can do so much.
Without you we can do nothing.

Overwhelming Generosity

 Your Overwhelming Generosity

Christmas is coming which puts a strain on every purse and at the same time the world is slipping into recession.  With this in mind, we are overwhelmed with your generosity towards the children of Egypt.  In the first week of December alone, donations were more than £1,500 sterling.  On behalf of the children who need your help, we offer our gratitude and ask that you keep donating and consider 'adopting' an Egyptian family and donate on a regular basis.

With you we can do so much

Without you we can do nothing.
