Happy New Year

Happy New Year

We have been overwhelmed by your generosity this Christmas and as we move into the New Year our total donations have reached not just the first target that we set, they have even exceeded the second target.  With thanks to all our supporters we have total donations for the first seven months of the Little Stars charity amounting to:-

£13,318

We can now start making plans for major projects to make the lives of Luxor's disabled and disadvantaged children easier than they are now.  You have demonstrated your faith in us and we assure you that the funds will be used wisely and that you will be kept informed of developments at every stage.

Please keep making your donations. Without you we can do nothing.  With you we can achieve so much.

Merry Christmas Everyone

Merry Christmas Everyone

Regardless of nationality and religious creed, Christmas is a time of goodwill to everyone and Little Stars would like to take this opportunity of thanking all our supporters for their help.

We are a very new charity on a very steep learning curve but we are approaching the end of 2007 with great optimism.  At the end of November, which saw the completion of Little Star’s first six months of operation, we had donations of £8,034 and we hoped to reach £10,000 by the end of December.  Because of your generosity, not only have we already reached that target but we have exceeded it.  Total donations to date are:-

 £11,194

and there are still eleven days of 2007 left.  This is small amount compared with the sums the large charities have but it is a magnificent achievement for a new charity.  Please keep your donations coming in and allow Little Stars, on your behalf, to give the help that is vitally needed.

The Trustees and the disadvantaged children of Luxor, wish our supporters, our Patron and the Egyptian authorities a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Egyptian Representative - Luxor

We would like to welcome Aamer Ibrahim to the official Little Stars team.  Aamer is a graduate Tour Guide and the son of a Luxor hotelier.  He is fluent in the English language and is proficient in German.

He is familiar with all the local charitable Associations and has volunteered to be our interpreter and go-between.   His contribution to Little Stars will be invaluable and we are grateful for his help which has already made a difference to the scope of what we can achieve as a charity.

Details will soon be added to the Little Stars About Us page.

Newsletter No. 7

 www.LittleStars-Luxor.org

At the end of November Little Stars was six months old and reflected on its first half year in operation.  It has been a greater success than any of the founders could have imagined and we have been asked by all the Egyptian Associations we are co-operating with to thank the people of Great Brtiain for helping them to care for their children.

Our latest Newsletter is being prepared and will have photos.  It will give you a brief outline of what was achieved in November which was a very busy month for Little Stars as new projects were undertaken and new links with local organisations were forged. It will be uploaded soon by our tireless webmaster who gives his services free.  We are indebted to him for his hard work and integrity.

Back copies of all the newsletters can be obtained by sending a stamped addressed envelope to Little Stars registered address in the UK.

Target becomes nearer - thanks to you all

We are delighted to report to you that the target of £10,000 sterling by the end of the year is getting closer.  Donations for the last week have again exceeded the £1,000 sterling mark.

Little Stars works with all of Luxor’s reliable charities whether they are Egyptian or European based and we are hoping that in the New Year we might have enough money to buy a mini bus for the use of Karnak Charity Society.  The manager has indicated that a bus is needed to bring children to the clinic because many families cannot afford transport when their children become too heavy to carry.  (Manacare have already been consulted about this.)

Distances mean that a bus is also needed for the west bank clinic as the cost of hiring a service car on a daily basis is prohibitive. With your help we may be able to provide that too.  Buses were one of our original project hopes and now we may actually be able to achieve it.

 Thank you again.
