This is really unique gift if you can permit oneself to buy to enjoy. The auction house Christie announced that 101.27 carats diamond will be appeared at the next auction in Hong Kong by pre-sale estimate about $6 million. The auction will take place in Hong Kong on May 28.
“As auction leaders in Asia, we hold many records in the jewelry field, but never before were we able to offer such an important stone in Hong Kong,” said Vickie Sek, director of the jewelry and jadeite department at Christie’s Asia. “Its appearance on the market has already created a sensation."
The top lot at Christie's auction was this 13.96-carat marquise-cut, D-color, IF-clarity diamond, which sold for $1.58 million.
"Nine lots sold for over $1 million [in U.S. dollars] in a sale that demonstrates once again the great strength of the jewelry market and, in particular, the continued demand for rare white and colored diamonds," said Vickie Sek, director of Christie's Asia's Jewellery and Jadeite department. "Buying was predominately Asian with strong competition from private collectors in China, Russia and the Middle East."
