Job Description: 
  • Evaluating  customer business needs to contribute to strategic planning of information systems, facilities and software directions
  • Designing and developing high quality business solutions and other projects
  • Planning and coordinating resources necessary to complete product implementation and assisting in preparation of major sales proposals
  • Working with customers during preliminary installations and testing of developed solutions or products
  • Recognizing and advising management of potential problems and opportunities for follow-on business
  • Assisting with the preparation of sales proposals as needed
  • Determining methods and procedures on new assignments and may provide guidance to other personnel
Qualifications
  • BE in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 8-10 years of progressive experience in all MFG/PRO modules as product support specialist or billable consultant
  • In depth knowledge of Oracle and Progress database administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery strategy
  • Knowledge of or experience with QAD MFG/PRO application, Progress 4GL, Oracle SQL, UNIX shell scripting and Java programming
  • Linux, UNIX, Windows and NT platform system administration, tuning and maintenance
  • 75% travel required
