Quality LED TV, beware of the VESA mounting hole size

The picture is great, the sound is good, no complaints at all.

The only thing I want to draw people's attention to is the fact that this, unlike almost all other 26" TVs, requires M8 screws to mount it to a VESA wall mount. These are very large screws that you would usually find on larger TVs. This wouldn't be a big deal if most wall mounts for 26" TVs had big enough holes to accomodate this, but in my case (I purchased the VideoSecu wall mount) the holes were not large enough.

I had to run out and buy M8 x 25mm screws, and drill bigger holes into my wall mount bracket. I used the grey spacers from Samsung to attach it to the bracket. It works great now, very secure, I just want to make sure people are aware they might need to do a couple of extra steps if they would like to wall mount this TV.

Phenomenal tv and monitor!

I use this for both as a tv and a pc monitor and I have to say that it is truly exceptional. The picture quality is outstanding. Its menu is also very extensive which is a plus (because you can customize it). I put on some bunny ears to see how the free over the air channels would work, and the picture was really fuzzy like I was watching analog again or something...but that could have been because of the antenna...I plan on buying a new one and seeing how it works..Setting the tv up on the stand also was a bit challenging because the instructions are VERY vague...it basically leaves you to your own imagination. I had to have someone help me and it still took us at least an hour to figure everything out when if the instructions were better...it would have only taken maybe 10 minutes. I also noticed the turn on time is a bit slow. It takes about 10 seconds I would say...and that sounds fast...but just count it out loud and then you will know what im talking about. The clear bezel really adds a sense of classiness and slickness to it and so does the touch sensitive buttons. The slimness makes it very light so I can move it around my desk with ease. It doesn't swivel but it makes up for that in its lightness because you can just slide it yourself which ever direction you want it. Over all though I am very pleased with my transaction.

I did not find these shoes to run big at all. I ordered one size down as instructed and my toes were right at the end of the shoes. My husband could not get the velcro to even touch-yes he has big feet but these were skimpy on him too. They are thin soled, no support. Ok for light duty, but not active water sports or really rocky areas. I returned them and didn't like the fact that I had to pay for return shipping even though Amazon said to order a size smaller than usual.

They are sturdy and comfortable and provide pretty good protection even when walking on rocks. Takes a few hours to dry them out, though and better do this diligently, or you could get mildew. Shape Ups Sleek Fit are AMAZING! Most Comfortable shoe EVER!

I just received my Sleek Fit Mary Janes and I couldn't be happier. They fit like a dream (I wear a 9.5 and they fit, no problem.) They actually fit better than the lace up ones I bought a week ago at a department store. They are really very comfortable and sooo light. They almost feel like an extension of my foot, that's how comfortable and light they feel.

Good for the price

I needed shoes for water aerobics, and these seemed decent for the price. Other water shoes can run $80-$90. PROS: They protect my feet from being scraped on the floor/walls of the pool and provide some traction. They are lightweight, stay on during rigorous exercise, and allow water to flow in and out easily. They seem true to size. Finally, they look OK and they are super easy to get on and off. CONS: The left shoe has rubbed my pinky toe raw. I'll give it some time and see if that resolves--could just be me. Secondly, on certain wet tile floors, they are still a bit slick (might be true of any shoe). Finally, they don't dry very fast. This is a dry Colorado summer, and after evening water aerobics they're still damp the next morning. Overall, though, I am happy with these.

I love these!

Long story short, I had surgery on my big toe joint, and have since developed plantar faciitis. I can't wear flats and walking barefoot kills me, but who wants to wear gigantic sneakers everywhere? I wear my Fit Flops constantly - after waking in the morning, doing chores, checking the mail, grabbing a bite from the fridge, etc. These sandals are the best alternative to walking barefoot, but still not as good as, say, a pair of ShapeUps. This is because your feet react different to flip flops than they do sneakers, of course.

These aren't magic flip flops that are going to fix your medical issues. Nor are they going to magically burn fat off of you while you walk in them, trust me. They may help you tone your muscles a little bit, but for as out of shape as I am, if they did anything substantial, I'm sure I'd feel it by now! Hahaha. But seriously, I wouldn't recommend purchasing this particular style of Fit Flop for wearing 24/7 or for long distance walking (more than a half hour, give or take a few minutes, at a time). I walked to the store in mine yesterday, and while they weren't uncomfortable, it's just better for your feet to be wearing sneakers and I could tell by the time I got back home.

Also, I have noticed that my feet *kind of* stink after a bit. I'm not used to this - before needing surgery, I always wore leather flip flops that didn't stink quite like this. It's not terrible, just noticeable, and of course goes away after a bit. It must be the rubbery material the sole is made out of.

Overall, these flip flops are great for what they are - flip flops that are slightly better for your feet than most other flip flops. Hope I helped!

Best 3d Mario since the N64

Let me start out by saying that I was really addicted to this game. I would find myself staying up late hours into the night trying to get one more galaxy complete. I haven't been addicted to a game that much since Fallout 3, but after the first fifteen hours I began to play the game less and less until I barely played it at all. Maybe it was the fact that the levels started to look alike or maybe my PS3 won my favor for a while, I'm not really sure. I did end up beating the game though and overall I am very impressed with Mario Galaxy.

I was worried about the nun-chuck controls and only having one joystick, but Mario handled beautifully most of the time. There were times while running upside down that the control would reverse or just not work in the manner that I would have guessed. Nothing that ruined the game, but there were times in moments of intensity that it would have been nice to have another joystick. The challenge throughout the game is pretty even with some bumps here and there with boss battles.

The graphics look great for a Mario title and really bring out all that the Wii can do in this department. The cut scenes are rendered well and really look great. Some actual voices would have been nice instead of text boxes, but that was a style choice by the deveopers.

The game's length is about fifteen hours in length in order to beat the story. There are about fifteen hours left after that for those that want to get all the stars. I don't know what the reward is, but it does add some game time none the less. As I said above the game really hooked me, but then I sort of lost interest near the end. I don't blame the game that much as the levels and suit upgrades that you can pick up are interesting enough to keep your attention. Overall this game was much better than Mario Sunshine and just a little bit below Mario 64. I think Mario 64 had a little more variety. Mario Galaxy should be sampled by anyone that owns a Wii or is at any degree a Mario fan. This game is worth the forty bucks.

Kaput After a Year

Well, the charger puked out in March 2010 after about a year of light use. I tossed it and bought the Energizer charging pad (LOVE!) and put the Wii back into its little holder.

This item is kind of a pain. It's noisy, the light is too bright, and it sucks some electricity. It's one of those "vampire" electronics you're always hearing/reading about.

I wasn't really happy with the fact that I always had to take off and put on the Wii cases in order to charge the remotes, and the charger would show a green light (for "charged") just minutes after docking the remotes when we knew there was no possible way they could be charged. When they were supposedly charged, the remotes would only remain charged for about an hour of play.

I advise checking out the Energizer charger mentioned above. I love mine.

Since it's running Windows XP, it can grow with your child by removing the kid-limiting version and let them run in regular mode (although they may not want the Disney label as a teen). Highly recommended...

Cheap ASUS LGA1156 Intel P55 DDR3 2133 ATX Motherboard P7P55D

Good basic board

Asus has several versions of this board depending on your needs. This is one of the basic versions. I've used Asus boards for years and they always included back chassis adapters for serial port, firewire and digital audio, but none of those are included here - just the MB connector for each. There is also no support for a floppy drive. If you still use them, you'll need to use an external USB floppy drive. The board supports 6 SATA devices (some of the higher priced versions support 8).

I'm using an i7 860 chip, 8GB Corsaire memory (4 sticks) and a Noctua NH-U12P SE cooler. There is ample room to access the memeory slots provided you orientate the Noctua top-to-bottom. If you orientate front-to-back, I'd install the sticks before mounting the Noctua.

The only utility I've played with so far is the Auto OC feature. When I tried it, it changed the stock 2.80Ghz up to 3.46Ghz which is where it still is. System seems to be very stable even over-clocked.

My only negative on this board would be the position of the two PCIEx1 sockets. They both lie between the two PCIEx16 sockets. My video card covers the first PCIEx1 socket rendering it useless.

This board/chip for me is likely an interim build (a year or two). Other than the debate on the future of socket 1156 vs socket 1366, I would expect to see onboard support for SATA6 and USB3.0 within a year.

Love this board - @ stock speeds with i7-860 it is incredibly cool, responsive and just feels fast.

I have a great ATI video card, and in my opinion every SLI based board is just huge $30+ tax to Nvidia so I really liked the fact that this has everything I need without paying more for features I don't want.

Some salient points you don't find in most reviews:
1. Extremely stable board - booted the first try and has been rock solid ever since.
2. Boot time is only OK - even without RAID or old parallel seem to take almost 16 sec. to get post screen and another 15 to get to the windows loading point. Time to first usability with Windows 7 is about 45 seconds without a lot of startup programs.
3. Onboard sound seems fine for me; the controlling UI is OK and functional and lets you do things like set the balance of your back speakers etc.
4. Sleep Mode works great - by enlarge this works very seamlessly, it shut off every fan in the system so it is totally quiet and speed time to resume is great.
5. With an SSD and Windows 7 you really never seem to wait for anything.
6. Asus has a great support forum and usually seems to churn out new bios updates and utilities.
7. Looks better in person than in the pictures where it seemed a little to pastel -- but in person it looks slick.


Negatives
----------
- There are 2 chassis fan plugs; 1 cpu and 1 "pwr". In speedfan you can only control the chassis fans together and you can NOT change the CPU fan by voltage (if you have a 3 prong fan instead of 4 prong) and you can never adjust the "pwr".
- The Asus windows utilities look a little too cheesy and always seem way to big and clunky for what they actually do.
- The memory bays are really close to the CPU - I don't think I could use 4 slots with the Noctura unless I moved the fan to be exhaust only.


Tips
-------

- Remember to try and setup the hard drives to be AHCI rather than IDE. This shaved about 10 seconds off my boot time.
- The stock BIOS didn't really do a good job w/ turbo-boost; but the 0711 Bios fixes that.

Pretty Good

Unit works OK, good picture w/ TV or internet, however, it is not a green product. If I don't shut it off it goes on & off all by itself day & night, the screen is so bright, which uses a lot of power. It makes a humming noise which is a problem since it's in my bedroom. I also have the larger model & it has the same problems even when I turn off the wireless mouse as indicated by HP. The touch screen doesn't work well, I just use the mouse. Overall I'd buy it again because I don't see any better units on the market.

Great Laptop, but you pay a premium for Apple

I bought the previous version of this Macbook Pro released June 8th on June 13th and have had more than a year of experience with my Macbook Pro as a student. I have also been working as an IT technician. The only difference between this revision and the previous Macbook Pro I have is the .16Ghz difference in processor speed, 90GB in hard drive space, ~2 hours in battery life, a somewhat improved graphics card, and 2GB of RAM (cost me $50 to upgrade, compared to Apple's proposed $100).


POSITIVES:
1. Aluminum body makes the Macbook feel good to the touch and makes it very durable. I only have one scratch on it and that happened in the first month I got it. Other than that one small scratch, there are no scratches and I never bothered with a Macbook cover or anything.

2. Snow Leopard is a very nice operating system. Was a Windows XP user before, but it was a very easy transition.

3. The trackpad is probably one of the best designed and most responsive on a notebook. (I work IT, so I've worked on Dells, Lenovos, Sonys, etc.) I hate the two finger tap to double-click, so I made clicking the bottom-right right click. Still, the trackpad does not compare to having to a actual mouse.

4. Boot Camp Assistant allows you to partition your hard drive, so that you can have Windows AND Snow Leopard on your computer. I had Windows XP, but upgraded Boot Camp to Windows 7 Professional. When you install your Windows partition, make sure you use the drivers from your Snow Leopard disc and download the Boot Camp drivers from the Apple site.

5. The ability to schedule an appointment at the Apple Store for the Genius Bar makes customer support probably a good thing for problems. My friend had his hard drive die on him and got a replacement hard drive the next day since he was still in warranty. Even if you are out of warranty, you can still go, but expect to pay for replacement parts. If it's the hard drive that died, just buy it yourself since they rip you off.

6. Apple brags about how Macs doesn't have viruses. It's true, for now anyways. Macs still has vulnerabilities though if you're not careful. As Mac gains more market share, expect more viruses in the wild.

7. The AC adapter is well designed as you can add an extension cable if you need it. However, expect it to get hot.

8. Battery life is great on the Macbook Pro. It can last me all day if I run it on battery. I've only charged it ~95 times (according to Coconut Battery) as I run it on AC power often and battery life is 95%.


NEGATIVES:
1. The price is probably the worst part of getting a Macbook. For the prices you pay for each Macbook Pro model, you can get a computer with MUCH higher spec parts. An Intel Core 2 Duo just doesn't compare to the i3/i5/i7 quad core line of mobile processors. The i5s and the i7s that comes with only the higher end Macbook Pros aren't even actual quad cores as they virtualize cores. Also, the integrated graphics card doesn't just not compare to most discrete graphics cards that come with laptops at this price. For the $1100 I was gonna use to buy this year's Macbook revision, I decided to build my own computer. It has an i7 930 quad core processor overclocked to 3.61GHz, an ATI HD5770 graphics card, 640GB hard drive space, and 6 GB of ram.

2. Heat can also be a problem. The top left of the keyboard area (CPU area) gets quite hot (~150 Fahrenheit, ~65 Celcius) with just one Youtube video running in Firefox. I've seen it go up to 180 Fahrenheit (~82 Celcius) when running many applications. When Boot Camp, the Macbook Pro gets quite hot since it doesn't control the fans as well. I've found spraying compressed air into the fan when you take off the bottom lid to clean dust really helps.

3. Compared to Windows, the Mac doesn't have games. Even if they do, they mainly are ports from Windows and do not run as well. Game developers usually don't bother developing for both Mac and Windows at the same time. Starcraft 2, which was developed for both Windows and Mac at the same time, runs much better on the Windows Boot Camp partition than the Mac side. I can only run the Mac at 1280x800 on the lowest possible settings on the Mac side while I can run the Mac at 1280x800 on Medium settings using Windows 7.

4. If you plan to do powerpoint presentations from your Macbook, you'll need a mini-Displayport to VGA or DVI cable from Apple. This retails for $29.

5. The speakers aren't great, but what do you expect if it's under the keyboard?

6. The fastest way to transfer files from an external hard drive is through the Firewire 800 port. Firewire 800 does just not compare to eSata, which most modern computers support and whose speeds make Firewire look sad. The only reason Firewire is included on the Mac is because Firewire was developed by Apple and they get money from it.

It literally fell apart after 15 months.HP does not stand by their products:
A small crack started near the hinge and the screen literally split apart making it impossible to close and then it just stopped working all together.
This laptop was very carefully taken care of and never abused or dropped.
We brought it in to Best Buy and they said it should have lasted a lot longer than that and they could clearly tell it was never dropped or abused.
Went round and round with HP to no avail. They do not stand by their products. Best Buy gave us a $100 off a new laptop because they felt bad about
the situation and of course we did not purchase another HP and never will !!!

not bad, but not excellent either

First of all, this computer is really not bad, the out look and performance and everything. I don't care about the fingerprint on the touch pad but there are a few things keep me back from giving it the full score.

Before buying it I had read the reviews and one of them said sometimes the touch pad really has a mind of its own, and now I know what it means. Just for once, I really had no idea what it was doing.

It looks like the battery life is shorter than what it says in the description.

It has been frozen on me for several times. Like in this afternoon, all of a sudden none of the icons worked neither did the start menu. I had to force it to shut down and it had just been back not long ago.

In a word, this computer is not bad, just be prepared to encounter some little problems occasionally.

Being a Windows user for 15 years, I was a little hesitant about buying a MacBook Pro. The sleek and professional design finally won me over and I purchased one this week. I do not regret my decision one bit. The commands were easy to figure out, although it takes a bit getting used to. I bought the 13 inch for a small, light-weight laptop for carrying to college classes but it has easily turned into my favorite. To my delight, I can even play World of Warcraft and it runs even better on my new Mac than it ever did on my old laptop. I am pleasantly pleased with my purchase and recommend everyone buy one!
