First, when this is in box it is very, very heavy and bulky have help if possible moving it around, lucky I had a dolly.
Now, get out all nuts, bolts washers etc. etc. and match what you got with the parts list, I was fortunate it was complete. Matching the bolts with a different type would be hard. Get out your box end wrench set, borrow a friends or use a good crescent wrench, use a 3/4 inch & 11/16 inch box for the large bolts, the tool provided is a joke for assembling the item but OK later to check for tightness. Provided Allen wrenches work well. Assemble per instructions they are precise. Adjusting the belt takes some getting use to so work slowly it will finally be running in the middle, patience with this is a must!!!
I have lower back problems and walk 4.6 miles per day, nearly 61 years old and missed 32 days last year and wanted something to use when the weather does not permit walking, this fits the bill. CAUTION, you are going to be using muscles that you do not use when just walking. It's very much like loading a U-Hall truck walking up the plank, the next day you'll really feel the new muscels being used, don't think this is tit for tat like walking, start a little at a time and build up your strength and muscels or you will burn yourself out quickly.
I also put 2 like bricks surrounded with foam rubber under the back end to level it out even more, when starting out grab the handles firmly and hold on b/c until you get use to the thing you can fall pretty easily. Support yourself when getting on to start walking & slowly getting off to make adjustments. The belt adjustments are tricky at first just take your time. Wear good walking shoes so as to have a good grip to the belt. I know exactly how long the 4.6 miles take so I have not even used the electronic distant device, my legs tell me, walking 4.6 miles takes me exactly 1hr 20 min so far I'm up to 20 min on the treadmill, it's work!! Why did I buy it? The pavement doesn't move for me and I didn't want all the bells and whistles with an electric treadmill, just a lot more things to go wrong and a good one costs 2k+!!! Most people want devices to work for them, the pavement works against you when you walk so I wanted something that would make me work not the other way around. Oh, buy the silicone belt spray you'll need it very soon.
If this treadmill wears out in a year I can just about buy 7 years of these for 1 top electric treadmill and get a lot better workout.
Happy walking and take your time getting use to it!!!!!

Since it's manual resistance is provided by a flywheel (aka heavy roller). The problem is too much resistance at slow speeds and not enough at high. Aside from this it works well but since the resistance is unpredictable I found myself holding on to the rails. I'm 6' and had to bend over slightly to reach them so that was my only criticism about this device. It would be awesome to have adjustable height.

Cheap Stamina InMotion II Manual Treadmill

I was told by my doctor to get a manual treadmill. This one was the best I could fine, as the tread is wide enough for my gait. I amble more than walk due to a broken leg that didn't quite heal right. It is sturdy and takes my weight (225lbs) well. I had a problem lining up the handlebar holes for fastening, but I overcame it. All in all, it is as advertised. Sturdy, relatively quiet, and gives an excellent workout.

Inexpensive and I get a great workout. This unit has a good wide track and it is long enough for an average stride. The belt centering mechanism works great. Having used a motor driven treadmill in the past - I was worried about the manual function but I now feel I can get a better workout on the manual without having to run to get there.Buy Buy Stamina InMotion II Manual Treadmill Lowest Price, Order Now! I am so far very happy with the treadmill. My husband had an easy time setting it up. My only real complaint is with the shipping company. ABF was horrible with getting it to me when they were supposed to and I hope Amazon switches companies. Buy Buy Horizon Fitness T91 Treadmill Lowest Price, Order Now! [Click Here!]

Buying Horizon Fitness T91 Treadmill

Buying Horizon Fitness T91 Treadmill

First of all let me say I am pleased with this treadmill's performance. It's not too loud, and I like its level of sturdiness, features, and interface. It is well-designed, and I'm glad I bought it. I enjoy using it.

But let me tell you about the hell of putting it together...

First we pull it out of the box, *then* read "don't take it out of the box yet". Okay, well, they could have said that straight off, and that one's on us for not reading ahead.

So when we pulled it out of the box, the little pressure piston thingies sprung open and stuck the wheels out in the wrong direction, and we were at a loss as to how to get them back where they were supposed to go. We wrestled with it for awhile, and I got some impressive bruises on my arm trying to simply yank on the thing. So in our desperation we finally look at the troubleshooting section of the manual which says you just have to lift it up from one end and set it back down and all is well. Boy, did I feel stupid. But through my pain, I was endlessly relieved. The worst was over, I thought. But I was wrong.

We attach the first upright arm. No problem.

The problem came when attempting to attach the second upright arm. See, there is a very large bolt you have to slide through a hole in the arm that then screws into the frame. The bolt would not go through far enough for the threads to catch. It took us awhile to figure out why. When we stuck our fingers in the hole (not at the same time haha - it's big enough to fit my thumb but not much more), we could feel two little rough spots from a poor-quality weld. Great. Okay, so banging on the bolt to ram it through didn't work. Turns out the bolt is thicker for about 3/4ths of an inch of its length. And the tolerances are really, really close. It simply wouldn't go.

I was crestfallen, and pissed off. How on earth could we make this work? The arm came attached by a cord to the walking deck, and I couldn't figure out how we could get a new arm without a new deck as well. What a nightmare. My new treadmill, a big hunk of uselessness in my entryway.

So in desperation, I think to myself "I know! I have a knife sharpener! That can cut steel, right?" so we ram and twist that thing in the hole for about 45 minutes, trying to scrape off the little impeding bumps. We make a little progress but it isn't anywhere near enough. This isn't going to work.

Finally... I remember my Dremel tool with the flexible shaft attachment! Holy cow! The fact that I have the flexible shaft attachment means the end near the bit is small enough to really get some penetration into the hole with the chosen grinding bit. We work on this for about 30 minutes. I try the greenish grinding thingie. Hmm, not so great. I try the reddish grinding thingie, hmm, not much better. Finally the little sanding drum. Now we are getting somewhere! We grind and grind to make those little bumps inside the tube disappear as much as possible.

We try the bolt again. It still won't go. You can barely feel the little bumps we ground/sanded down, but they are still there, and like I mentioned previously, the tolerances are ridiculously tight, so it's still impossible.

I get a little weird at this point. I eye the bolt, with its thick section. And I think "I'm gonna get medieval on this bolt". So I grind off that thicker section. At this point I am willing to accept whatever happens as a result of this. I can't see how it would materially affect the sturdiness of the treadmill when fully assembled. Anyway, we're talking a ring of a couple millimeters around the bolt, approximately 3/4 inch wide.

I grind and grind with the little sandpaper drum. Sparks are landing on my hand but I don't care. I am wearing my safety goggles, and my glasses, so I'm not too worried. The sparks aren't hot, but I just hope I don't set my shirt on fire. I grind and grind and grind some more. I grind about 180 degrees around the bolt, shaving down the raised section. We try the bolt again after awhile. No go. I grind some more. We try again. We hit the bolt as hard as we can, rotate it around some, still no go. I am not going to give up, this thing is going to get built TONIGHT and so I grind some more.

FINALLY we slam that thing home! Oh exultant joy! Of course we didn't have the requisite washer on it so we had to pull it out (worried it wouldn't come out actually) then put on the washer and then put it back in the hole (worried it wouldn't go back in, but it did). We tighten it, but not all the way (as the manual instructs us not to tighten everything all the way until all components are assembled).

We continue with the installation with no problem. The treadmill works fine. We try it out a bit. Just before bed I notice the insert sheet with the warranty cards and such that said to lubricate the deck before using it. Oh, gee, that's nice. Maybe they could have mentioned this was required in the manual? You know, where we expected to see it?

Anyway, I lubricated the deck, it works great.

So beware if you buy this, hopefully you will not have the same problem we did and need to grind down parts to make them fit. Hopefully our experience is one-of-a-kind, but I thought I'd post a review telling how we conquered the problem in case it helps someone else.

Oh and I had no problem with the delivery. Arranged a day, they called while I was home at lunch, I told my boss I'd be back late from lunch. Turned out it arrived just in time for me to make it back to work without having to take even one minute off. The deliveryman was nice and professional, and I only wanted it set inside the door anyway.Buy Buy Horizon Fitness T91 Treadmill Lowest Price, Order Now! [Click Here!]

Cheapest Merit Fitness 725T Treadmill

I just can't get over what a great value this treadmill is. I read all the positive feedback and felt that at this price, I owed it to myself to check it out. It was easy to set up, is whisper quiet, and couldn't be easier to use. Has easy to operate incline and speed controls. The whole family is taking advantage of getting a workout while watching T.V. now. The only "heads up" I can offer is that there is a power switch at the bottom of the machine that needs to be turned on. Not easily visible and not clearly addressed in the operating instructions. I kept pressing the start button and couldn't understand why the machine wouldn't power up. Other than that minor detail -its a great investment in your familys fitness, and way more convenient than going to a health club.I used to go outside for a walk but with the unstable weather conditions in the Midwest, I often had to cancel due to rain, snow, or freezing cold. I nice piece of exercise equipment in the house also helps to eliminate these and other excuses. I highly recommend this Treadmill - absolutely easy to use and can be adjusted to any level of fitness. Buy Buy Merit Fitness 725T Treadmill Lowest Price, Order Now! [Click Here!]
