Clairvoyant Scam Update
Clairvoyancy Scam Update
The scam over Clairvoyant and Psychic Quacks is evidently an even bigger problem in the UK than it is in Luxor. New laws have been introduced in the UK which will lead to the prosecution and possible imprisonment of hundreds of con artists who prey on vulnerable people. This legislation has been needed for a long time.
Clairvoyants and Psychics who provide a service for money, like several Luxor residents, have all been brought under the UK Consumer Protection Act. Conning vulnerable people is obviously big business. We are unsure of how this will affect Dial-a-Psychic type services (Phone a Phoney) offered from Luxor but we are sure that when the crook returns to the UK they could be prosecuted and possibly imprisoned as what they are doing is just as criminal as copying and selling fake designer goods.
The shift in the law means that a client no longer has to prove that the Psychic is in touch with “the beyond” and “those that have passed over", it is now up to the Psychic to prove that he really is in touch with your long departed Uncle Silas. Proving that there is an afterlife has escaped all scientific means since man began looking for something beyond the grave. It is an impossible task and so the crook has lost the case before it begins and guilt is guaranteed.
This means that should anyone who has paid a Psychic anything for their services and been unhappy with the results can now prosecute for fraud and the onus will be on the Psychic to prove that he did not cheat you. You would not have to prove that he did. If you have been told rubbish about a tall handsome stranger or about the acquisition of great wealth by UK ex-pat in Luxor (who has already picked your brains for information) please make sure that the UK authorities know all about it.
We shall of course keep them informed of all Dial-a-Psychic type sites run by Luxor's dubious ex-pats. It might not be against civil law in Egypt but it is against the laws of Islam.
